Born in Mumbai, one of the most bustling cities in the world, he studied high school and graduated as one of the scholars from his batch. In 2017, he obtained his bachelor's degree in Architecture form the University of Mumbai and is a registered architect in India. Post architecture education, he worked with the leading architecture firms in Mumbai, where he was involved in the design and planning of several residential and mixed-use projects. He grasped the art of efficient planning and created 3d models for multiple projects including skyscrapers. He also teamed up with his friends for multiple luxurious interior architecture projects where he designed, executed, and ensured timely deliverables. At Virginia Tech in the Master of Architecture program, he was successful in identifying himself as a designer to build magnificent structures and spaces complementing it with building science. He believes that even while sketching during the schematic phase one should think about materiality and construction to develop a harmonious scheme for the clients.

Thomas Jones

Thomas Jones, AIA, LEED AP, is a partner and Director of Design for the Commercial Studio at JMDG Architecture| Planning + Interiors located in Naples, Florida. In this role he oversees the design and execution of all commercial building types, commercial interiors, master planning, multi-family, and select custom single-family residential projects. He has a Bachelor of Architecture from New Jersey Institute of Technology where he received honors for 3rd, 4th, and 5th year Design Studios. In addition, he was an all-star soccer player on the NCAA men's soccer team and a right-side hitter on the NCAA volleyball team which segued into playing local pro beach volleyball along the Jersey Shore. He also played guitar in a modern rock band in the early 90's in which he wrote the music, recorded an album, and had a song get radio air-play. Tom relocated to Naples from New Jersey in 1999 and has over 25 years of professional practice experience in both residential and commercial architecture. Tom practices architecture with a philosophy that design should be an intelligent process that seeks relevant conceptual ideas while avoiding arbitrary solutions or short-lived style trends. He believes proper planning and design should result in projects that are site specific, culturally relevant, socially responsible, and environmentally sustainable. Tom has received six design awards from the AIA Florida Southwest chapter. Tom has served locally on non-profit boards and currently is on the Board of Directors for Path2Freedom which provides a local residential rehabilitation program for girls rescued from sex trafficking in Florida. He is also a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB), and is an accredited professional in the Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED AP) program of the U.S. Green Building Council. In his spare time he runs, bikes, teaches an in-depth Bible study, and is writing a book. He is married to his wife Courtney, a local RealtorĀ®, who serves as Director of Real Estate Services for JMDG Architecture. They have three grown daughters and one granddaughter.
