We have a vision of providing an organic waste management service that builds resilient regional communities in northern Australia, not landfills... Waste Not aims empowers regional communities in northern Australia to better manage their organic waste, protect their environment, and build their economies through the creation of high-value products, jobs and industry diversification... Waste Not has chosen to utilize BSF farming for a number of reasons. Firstly, we believe it is more suitably aligned to the market opportunities both regionally and nationally. Other methodologies, such as composting, often face significant market barriers in northern Australia. Limited local market demand for compost products, and the vast distances to other markets, makes viability a challenge. BSF farming, however, produces a high value protein product that has ready, and growing, markets in the northern Australian aquaculture industry.
