BNSI began operations in 1994 as Emergent Strategies Incorporated, an Information Technology management consulting and executive education firm. In 1995, the firm launched its Internet Service Provider operation - ESInet - concentrating on the corporate market. In April 1998, Emergent Strategies changed its name to Broadband Network Services Incorporated to reflect its new scope of operations as a provider of broadband Internet access, web site hosting, managed servers, datacenter co-location and Internet-based applications... BNSI decided to wind down its hosting operations in 2018. The company went through a number of changes in the years preceding (shutting down our datacenter, merging the IT Services group with Arcane Technologies, etc.) and determined that we could not sustain the hosting business with the level of support to which our customers had.
