Colin Mandy

Colin Mandy was an Accredited Criminal Law Specialist before coming to the Bar. As a solicitor he instructed in a number of high profile matters including the Alan Bond High Court Appeal, and in many County and Supreme Court Trials. In his first week at the Bar he appeared as junior to Julian Burnside QC in the High Court of the Solomon Islands, and since then has appeared in all Victorian jurisdictions, and several interstate, including murder trials in Perth and drug trials in Sydney. He has recently appeared in the High Court in the case of Strickland v CDPP [2018] HCA 53. Colin is a holder of the Victorian Bar's Indictable Crime Certificate. He is on the VLA Preferred Barrister List, and is among the senior barristers in the VLA Trial Counsel Development Program.

James Anderson

James Anderson focusses on indictable criminal trial work. He regularly appears in the Supreme Court and County Court in serious matters, including homicide, terrorism, fraud, drug and sexual offending. James is briefed to appear in the Court of Appeal, the Coroner's Court and at disciplinary tribunals. He has a particular interest in cases challenging unlawful police investigative techniques, searches (with or without warrant) and the use of excessive force. He enjoys interrogating expert medical evidence, including the causation of injury or death and the relevance of psychiatric disorders to criminal offending. James has acted in a number of cases engaging human rights defences for individuals from a wide range of backgrounds, including those from remote First Nations' communities and clients with intellectual disabilities or mental illness. He has acted for well intentioned social activists that have engaged in politically motivated demonstrations that attract the ire of police. James commenced his trial practice prior to coming to the Victorian Bar. He previously worked as a trial lawyer at the North Australian Aboriginal Justice Agency (Darwin) and as an Associate Public Defender at Victoria Legal Aid. James began his legal career in 2004 as a litigation lawyer at Blake Dawson Waldron (now Ashurst). In 2012, James was accredited as a LIV Criminal Law Specialist. He holds an Indictable Crime Certificate from the Victorian Bar and is a member of the Victoria Legal Aid Preferred Trial Counsel List. He is a member of the Criminal Bar Association.

Megan Tittensor

Megan Tittensor is an experienced trial advocate based at Gorman Chambers in Melbourne. She has appeared in all types of criminal matters; notably murder, conspiracy, corporate and tax fraud, Occupational Health and Safety as well as drug and sexual offences. In addition, Megan practices in quasi-criminal jurisdictions including disciplinary and tribunal matters, coronial inquests and royal commissions. In relation to the latter, Megan appeared as junior counsel for the Managing Director of AWB in the AWB Royal Commission, and in subsequent civil penalty proceedings brought by ASIC. More recently she was Counsel Assisting in the Royal Commission into the Management of Police Informants. Until recently, Megan was Vice Chair of the Criminal Bar Association of Victoria after having been its Secretary for over ten years.
