MML UK ADVISOR - Key Persons
Alex earned a B.S. in Finance and Accounting from the University of Maryland's Robert H. Smith School of Business. He began his career at Ernst & Young where he earnt his CPA certification. He then joined The Keystone Group, a boutique management consultancy in Chicago focused on manufacturing and distribution clients. Alex spent the next 5 years focused on the evaluation and execution of control and non-control investments in the middle market across a wide range of industries, prior to joining MML's New York office.
Alison graduated from Imperial College at Wye, University of London, with a BSc (Hons) in Business Studies. After graduating, her first role was as a sales administration assistant for a small food importer, before moving into the finance sector at Global Asset Management (now part of UBS) as an investment assistant. She subsequently took an internship with Liberty Square Asset Management in Boston, Massachusetts, before returning to the UK with JP Morgan as an assistant in equity research. She joined MML as an EA before taking on the role of Office Manager.
Amar grew up in Birmingham before reading Economics and Philosophy at the University of Leeds, which included a year as a BUTEX scholar at UC Berkeley. After university, Amar began his career in EY's strategy and transactions team where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant before joining MML.

After graduating from the Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario, Andrew moved back to Europe and joined Credit Suisse First Boston in London. He subsequently moved into investing with GSO (now Blackstone Credit) via BNP Paribas. Prior to joining MML, he most recently spent more than a decade at Macquarie in London and San Francisco, eventually leading the Capital Solutions business and sitting on the US Management Committee.
After obtaining a Master's degrees from HEC Paris and ESADE Barcelona, Anne-Claire spent four years in strategic consulting at Bain & Company. She then worked at private equity fund L-GAM in London before joining the Paris team of MML.
After graduating from ESCP, Antonin joined the MML Paris Team in 2022. Prior to this, he worked as a Private Equity analyst intern at Cerea Partners as well as a Leveraged Finance intern at BPCE.
After graduating from Aalto University with BSc degree in Economics and Business Administration, Arttu moved from Finland to complete an MSc degree in Finance and Private Equity at the London School of Economics. He started his career as an investment banking analyst with the Nordic Coverage team at Nomura and subsequently joined the TMT team at Goldman Sachs, before joining MML.
After matriculating from school in South Africa, Ash moved to the UK to complete her BSc in Biological Sciences from Durham University. She started her accounting career working for a property group before landing her first role in the private equity industry as an accounts assistant at Advent Life Sciences. Ash left Advent after three years to join MML as a management accountant.
Bal joined Accenture (aka Andersen Consulting) straight after graduating from Nottingham Trent University. He subsequently joined 3i plc (the then European university of private equity). After a decade of successful deals, he decided to leave and do it independently, exploring the idea of developing a friendly, bespoke private equity firm which ultimately evolved into what MML is today!
After graduating from university with a BA (Hons) in Drama, Bethan worked within the worlds of wine and property. Prior to joining MML, she moved into financial services where she worked in investment banking.
Blanche holds an MBA in hospitality, restaurant, and tourism management. She initially held operational roles in the hospitality and restaurant industry in Paris, before progressing to restaurant manager and later sector manager in premium catering. She joined MML as an Office Manager after deciding to explore a different working field whilst staying in a demanding service-oriented profession.

After graduating from the University of Adelaide with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Corporate Finance, Brock joined KPMG assurance and advisory, where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant. Prior to settling at MML, Brock also spent time working for Deloitte commercial advisory. Brock first joined MML as a Finance Manager before moving into investor relations.
After graduating from Berkeley, EDHEC, and Sungkyunkwan University, Caroline joined the MML Paris team in 2024. Prior to this, she completed internships at Cathay Capital and BlackFin Capital Partners.
Chandler earned a B.S. from the Charles H. Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management at Cornell University. He began his career at Citigroup, working in Commercial Banking, before joining Guggenheim Partners where he worked in the Industrials Investment Banking team, prior to joining MML's New York office.
After graduating from ESSEC, Charles spent three years in strategic consulting at LEK Consulting, before joining the long-short equity hedge fund BDL Capital Management. He subsequently worked for private equity firm, Gimv, before joining the Paris team of MML.
Chester joined MML from Metier, a pan-African private equity firm, where he spent six years working across its growth capital and sustainable capital funds. Prior to that, he worked in the M&A team at Houlihan Lokey. Chester is a CFA® charterholder and has degrees from the London School of Economics (MSc in Behavioural Science) and the University of Cape Town (BBusSc in Economics and Law).
Chloe graduated from the University of Manchester with a BA (Hons) degree in History before joining wealth management firm Charles Stanley where she focused on private client, professional and institutional business development. Chloe then joined international law firm Bird & Bird as Business Development Executive in their Corporate team, later joining MML.
Christian graduated from the University of Exeter with a BA Honours degree in Economics and Politics, after which he began his career at Barclays where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant. He then joined EY in their financial services strategy and transactions team where he spent five years, including a year on secondment in the New York office, before joining MML in London.
George graduated from Loughborough University with a degree in Accounting and Financial Management. This included a placement year, where he worked at Haines Watts to assist in the formation of financial statements for SME's. He then joined MML as an Accounts Assistant, where he is working towards his chartered qualifications.
Georgia graduated from the University of Otago with a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Economics and Finance. She started her career in investment banking at Jarden, in New Zealand. After four years at Jarden, she relocated to London and joined MML.
After graduating from the University of Nottingham with a BSc Honours degree in Industrial Economics, Harry joined EY's Assurance team where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant. He subsequently joined 8Advisory's FDD team before starting at Alantra where he spent over three years in the M&A services team. Whilst at Alantra he worked alongside MML on our investments in Altius and Roboyo.
Helen Downie - Chief Investment Officer
After graduating from the University of Warwick, Helen joined Ernst & Young where she qualified as a Chartered Accountant. She then spent a number of years in the oil and gas industry before moving to Foresight Group where she focused on investing into energy transition, waste and digital infrastructure for seven years. She was then part of the founding team of a renewable energy investment platform before joining MML.
Helen Lowe - Chief Investment Officer
After graduating from Lancaster University with a BSc in International Business, Helen qualified as an ACA at Baker Tilly (now RSM). She spent 15 years (most latterly with Clearwater International) advising entrepreneurs and PE-backed management teams on accelerating their ambitious growth plans and unlocking shareholder value, before joining MML. Her past clients include the founders and management teams behind several MML portfolio businesses.
Henry Alty - Chief Investment Officer
Henry graduated with a First in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from the University of Oxford. He started his career with six years in the UK, Middle East and Singapore at TMT-focused strategy consultancy Spectrum. He has spent the last ten years in lower mid-market private equity and growth equity in the UK, with a focus on B2B software and services companies implementing and using technology.

After graduating as a Civil Engineer from Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées in Paris, Henry-Louis started his career with Arthur Andersen as an auditor. He then spent ten years in Japan, New York and Paris with Banque Indosuez (Crédit Agricole Investment Banking) dedicated to structured finance and leverage finance. He set up the LBO advisory team of Deloitte corporate finance in France before joining MML.
Ian graduated from the University of London in 1991 with a degree in Medieval and Modern History. After being inspired by the movie Trading Places, he became a commodity trader with Cargill plc before moving into private equity with 3i plc. After seven years with 3i, Ian joined MML.
After graduating from King's College London, James worked in mid-market M&A advisory across a range of sectors at Stephens. He then worked in the TMT investment banking team at Deutsche Bank, before joining MML.
James graduated from the University of Southampton with a first-class degree in Mathematics, before starting his career in M&A advisory at finnCap Cavendish, where he also qualified as a Chartered Accountant. He then joined Baird, working in their technology & services investment banking team for three years, before joining MML.
Jo Weir - Chief Compliance Officer
Jo graduated from the University of Liverpool with a BA (Hons) degree in Law and Business before obtaining her Master's degree in International Business Law from Newcastle University. She began her career at Citi and later worked at Goldman Sachs. Prior to joining MML, Jo was Head of Compliance at private equity firm CapVest, where she was responsible for all aspects of the group's compliance framework.

John has worked in infrastructure investment since 2005 following 15 years in private equity principal investment and advisory. He graduated in Physics in 1989 and worked for E&Y before joining 3i Group in 1996. After 9 years in 3i's private equity business he was a founding member of 3i Infrastructure which listed in 2007. He moved to First Reserve in 2009 where he joint founded their infrastructure business, raising their first 2 funds, and was a member of the IC. John has pursued a plural career since 2018 and is a board member on a number of the UK's leading infrastructure businesses.

Jonty graduated with an MA (Hons) in Classics and French from the University of Edinburgh. He served as an Officer in the British Army (2nd LT, SSLC) before moving into business. His first role in private equity was at Foresight Group, where he was promoted to oversee the Institutional Capital team and lead fundraising across the PE, Private Debt and Infrastructure strategies. He then moved to PJT Park Hill (formerly part of Blackstone), where he was a Managing Director in the Private Equity and Real Assets team, before joining MML.
Karan graduated from Glasgow Caledonian University with a BA (Hons) degree in Accountancy. She began her career with KPMG, where she qualified as a Chartered Accountant. Karan spent 11 years in KPMG's financial services audit division in both Edinburgh and Melbourne, focusing on the asset management sector. Karan joined Dunedin as finance and operations manager in 2012 where she was responsible for all aspects of financial and investor reporting, HR, IT and property management, before joining MML.

After qualifying in Office Administration in the west of Ireland, Lisa went on to follow another passion of hers in cosmetics that led to years of retail management prior to taking the role of team assistant at MML.
After graduating from HEC in Paris, Louis joined the investment banking team at Rothschild & Co. He then worked for the French State Investment Fund ("FSI") focusing on mid to large cap transactions across various industries and situations, before joining MML. Louis is also an entrepreneur and is the founder of a chain of wine shops.

Mani Minhas - Chief Investment Officer
Mani has spent over a decade in M&A and private equity, principally focused on the mid-market. He started his career with six years in the M&A group at Deloitte. He then spent six years at NorthEdge, mid-market private equity fund investing across a range of sectors with a particular focus on services and technology before joining MML.
