Alex Maclean

Alex is an award winning designer, illustrator, writer and web developer. He has worked for about 30 years in independent creative production which has led to 5 BAFTA and 3 RTS wins and nominations and multiple D&AD and Design Week awards in projects spanning TV, film, web, branding and illustration. Alex was inspired to join RheEnergise in order to try to make a difference in the climate emergency.

Alireza Mohseni

Job Titles:
  • Senior R & D Engineer
Alireza did his PhD at École de Technologie Supérieure in Automated Manufacturing Engineering. He has a few years hands-on experience of implementing control systems for a wide range of electromechanical and mechatronic systems. His areas of research interests are intelligent control systems, industrial electronics, power systems, neural network applications, and robotic control.

Christian Porowski

Christian Porowski is a project engineer with nearly a decade of combined experience as a consultant in the design of sustainable and energy simulations, and as a lead mechanical engineer developing and building industrial vertical farms. He has obtained his Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering at McGill University, where he developed his passion for innovative sustainable technologies. His career has led him to contribute to projects in Switzerland, France, Australia and across Canada.

Diana Xu

Job Titles:

Diana has a few years of hands-on experience with product development and implementation. She has a Chemical Engineering degree from the University of New Brunswick and has worked in a few different industries. She is very passionate about creating a sustainable future.

Dietrich Bödecker

Job Titles:

Dietrich has an extensive background in socially responsible investments and clean tech innovation launches. Most recently, he co-founded DSi's impact investment initiative, leading DSi's financial analysis, tax structuring and investment decisions to adapt community energy to a post-FIT environment. Dietrich has been instrumental in the $30M capital raise for an economic empowerment venture capital fund as well as in a public debt consolidation programme totalling $200M.

Dr Timothy Laing

Timothy is Senior Lecturer in Economics at the University of Brighton, specialising in environment, natural resource and development, with a PhD from LSE. Previous academic roles include the University of Cambridge, LSE and the University of West Indies. Clients have included the World Bank, Climate Strategies, the International Council on Mining and Metals and Conservation International. Timothy's expertise covers mining policy and economics, carbon markets, the EU ETS, REDD+ and natural resource management.

Dr. Tamás Bertényi - CTO

Tamás is an experienced sustainable energy engineer and entrepreneur. With a PhD from the University of Cambridge, he has been actively engaged with sustainability and decentralised-scale energy since 2002. His work has covered product innovation to project design and project finance. Tamás has been involved with numerous clean tech startups. His track record includes over £6m in collaborative research grants and raising £20m investment.

Dr. Zahra Alaei

Zahra obtained her MSc in chemical engineering - molecular science at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden. She has spent the past 3 years in research in formulation science at the University of Greenwich. Her research interests centre around complex problems in different areas such as lubrication and energy industries.

Graham Cook - CFO

Graham is an entrepreneurial and commercial chartered accountant, FCA and MBA, committed to cleantech growth businesses. He has 25 years' professional experience as a CFO and advisor and a track record as serial CFO of high growth cleantech businesses. Graham has played a leading role in the raising of more than £40m in funding, and in providing strategic leadership, support and challenge to management.

Jim Campion - Chairman

Jim is an experienced business leader in engineering, manufacturing and project construction businesses. He has a global perspective and significant deal experience in large scale capital projects ($200M-1.3Bn) as well as raising capital for technology intensive ventures, energy project ventures and private equity funds. Since 2011 Jim is a partner of EnerCap Capital Partners, a PE fund manager investing in large renewable energy ventures/ projects (CEE region). Jim has a foundation in power systems engineering and is a Fellow of the Energy Institute.

Lizzi Gold

Lizzi spent three years working in the marketing and advertising industry, after graduating with a Masters in Chemistry from the University of Bristol. She has spent time studying and working abroad in Spain and Mexico, and is fluent in Spanish. Lizzi is passionate about climate change and creating a sustainable future.

Marc-Antoine Proulx

Marc-Antoine has worked at several leading aerospace companies in Quebec. With a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering from Concordia University, he is particularly interested in fluid mechanics and turbomachinery. Marc-Antoine is also passionate about sustainability and social justice.

Matthew Crosher

Matthew has close to two decades' experience in the hydro industry. He is currently a senior technical specialist for rotating machines, pumps and turbines at United Utilities. Matthew has overseen, from conception to generation, over 238 hydro projects within excess of 128 MW of installed capacity. He served on the British Hydro Association council for 4 years, and has been a member of the Scottish Renewables Hydro Work Group.

Michael Mc Kee

Michael is an experienced Project Manager skilled in spearheading technical construction and energy projects across a wide range of trades and engineering disciplines applying his knowledge on projects across the UK, Canada and New Zealand. Michael obtained a bachelors in Mechanical Engineering and a masters degree in Energy Systems Engineering at National University Of Ireland, Galway bringing both his practical site construction experience and in-depth technical knowledge to the team.

Michael Roche - Chief Investment Officer

Michael is an experienced financial adviser, investor and entrepreneur who has spent over 20 years advising businesses on succession planning, tax efficient investment strategies and financial solutions. Michael co-founded Tributum Research who offer advice on capital allowances and research and development tax relief. As an angel investor he has a particular interest in sustainability, the transition to net zero and being a force for good.

Philippa Rogers

Her specialities include social media, content creation, digital comms strategy, client communications, event marketing, public relations, renewable technology, and sustainability.

Prof. Richard Cochrane - CIO

Prof. Cochrane is Director of Education and Senior Lecturer at Exeter University. A Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the Energy Institute with a passion for Renewable Energy and Engineering Design. Richard designed the Quiet Revolution qr5 helical vertical axis wind turbine, leading all aspects of system and product development. He led the development of a high efficiency double regulated Kaplan turbine including control systems and CFD optimisation.

Sarah Bertolotti - CFO

Sarah is an ACA qualified chartered accountant. She has worked in finance for 20 plus years in organisations both big and small. She has a degree in Commerce from Birmingham University. Her strengths include adding structure and rigour to the finance function in growing organisations, working with non finance personnel to achieve strategic goals and managing cashflow effectively to achieve business plans.

Stephen Crosher - CEO

Stephen has a track record in innovation, commercialisation and management across energy, property and retail. He founded Fleet Renewables in 2011 with the goal of commercialising innovation, including RheEnergise. Stephen has been involved with entrepreneurialism in EVs, tidal, solar, biomass, air quality, insurance and wind energy and has been the commercial director of two different wind turbine manufacturing businesses.
