Dr Ben Addison

Ben is fellow of RANZCR having trained in the Auckland region, with subspecialist interests in Body Imaging (particularly urological), Oncology and Musculoskeletal radiology. Ben worked primarily as a trainee in North Shore Hospital having completed an MRI fellowship there in 2019. Ben originally trained as an Optometrist in Auckland University, graduating in 1999. Ben is married with 3 children, and enjoys baby wrangling, ice hockey and looking after his Norwegian Forest cat.

Dr Carole Paulus

Job Titles:
  • Radiologist, Breast Imaging Clinical Lead
Carole attended the University Louis Pasteur Medical School in Strasbourg, France, graduating in 2001 before completing her training in Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology in 2009. She moved to New Zealand in 2013 and since then she has worked in both the private and public sectors in Auckland, obtaining her FRANZCR in 2019. She joined the Beyond Radiology team at the end of 2023. Carole has a special interest and expertise in Oncologic, Breast and Female Pelvic Imaging and reports General, Musculoskeletal and Head and Neck Imaging. She performs imaged-guided musculoskeletal procedures and breast biopsies. Carole is passionate about improving Breast Health and early breast cancer detection for all women in New Zealand. She believes that public and private health practitioners should work hand in hand to provide clearer pathways, education and information to all women across New Zealand about their best screening options to reduce breast cancer mortality. Once one-size-fits-all, breast cancer screening is now evolving towards a more tailored approach and Carole is dedicated to give her patients the best care with transparent and compassionate communication. Outside of work, Carole enjoys surfing with her partner, experimenting with ceramics and patting dogs. She has made Auckland her home and fully embraced the Kiwi lifestyle, although she does miss real French Camembert.

Dr Clarke Baker

Clarke is a New Zealand trained Radiologist specialising in musculoskeletal and general radiology. Clarke attended University of Otago medical school graduating in 2011. Following his years working in Tauranga, Hutt and Wellington Public hospitals, Clarke began radiology training in his hometown of Auckland, graduating in 2020. In his final year as a senior Radiology registrar, Clarke focused on MRI and general intervention and completed the MRI body fellowship at Waitemata Health. In 2021, Clarke completed his post graduate subspecialty Musculoskeletal Fellowship training in the Sunshine Coast at Noosa and Gympie Radiology, focusing on MSK MRI, arthrograms and imaging guided procedures including cortisone and PRP therapy. Growing up in Auckland, Clarke enjoys anything to do with the water including sailing and fishing and is complimented by his wife and two young daughters.

Dr Philip Clark

Philip is a Musculoskeletal Radiologist, with subspecialist interests in Paediatric Radiology, Body Imaging and Interventional Procedures. Between June 2021 and January 2023, Philip was Head of Radiology at Waitemata Health, Auckland, New Zealand, where he was the lead Radiology advisor to Chief Medical Officer and Executive Director of Hospital Services, lead of Interventional Radiology and senior leadership team member. Between January 2020 and June 2021, Philip was Clinical Director at Waitemata Health, Auckland, NZ, where he was the clinical lead of Radiology, lead of the COVID-19 response for the Radiology Departments, lead radiology advisor to Incident Management Team (IMT) and worked closely with the General Manager of Diagnostic Services Division and Clinical Support Services Division, the Chief Medical Officer, Executive Director Hospital Services and Radiology Operations Manager at Waitemata Health, Auckland, New Zealand.

Dr Robert Shao

Job Titles:

Rob is a New-Zealand trained radiologist with subspecialty interests in body imaging and performing image-guided procedures. Graduating from Auckland Medical School in 2010, Rob spent his pre-radiology years in the Auckland region including a year as a surgical registrar and another dedicated to research and medical education. He completed his radiology training across Tauranga and Auckland, obtaining his FRANZCR in 2019. In his final year, this included a 6-month MRI fellowship at North Shore Hospital that involved a large volume of spine and body imaging.

Dr Sahan Wadasinghe

Job Titles:
  • Radiologist
Sahan is an Auckland-trained consultant Radiologist. Sahan has more than five years full-time experience as a consultant for Waitemata DHB, where he continues to maintain a hospital-based role, along with team leader roles for both quality improvement and education. Sahan has completed fellowships in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and interventional radiology at North Shore Hospital, and is currently undertaking further advanced subspecialty fellowship training in musculoskeletal imaging. Sahan is experienced across a broad range of diagnostic imaging modalities and organ systems. In addition, he is skilled in a wide range of imaging guided interventional procedures, including joint injections, nerve root injections, and organ biopsies. In his spare time, Sahan has a strong interest in technology, and enjoys watching motorsport, and spending time with his young family.

Dr Sonal Amin

Sonal completed her radiology residency training at Montefiore Medical Center in New York (2007) and then completed a diagnostic Neuroradiology fellowship at University of California Los Angeles. Subsequently, she did a Musculoskeletal fellowship with Radnet in Los Angeles. Sonal moved to New Zealand in 2012 and has been working at Middlemore Hospital since then, specializing in Neuroradiology and Head and Neck radiology. Sonal joined Beyond Radiology in 2022.

Dr Terina Caughey

Terina is a New Zealand trained Radiologist. Graduating from Auckland Medical School in 2010, Terina spent most of her junior doctor years serving at Middlemore Hospital including a year as a Surgical Research Fellow before embarking on Radiology training. She completed her Radiology training in Auckland obtaining FRANZR at the end of 2018. She started as a Consultant Radiologist at Counties Manukau and in 2021 she pursued additional subspecialty training doing a one-year Neurointerventional Radiology Fellowship at Auckland City Hospital. Since completing her fellowship, she has returned to Counties Manukau and is passionate about serving the local population and committed to registrar training and teaching. In her spare time, Terina enjoys spending time with her preschool daughter and can often be found outdoors camping and hiking or at museums and concerts.

Harry Barnes - Chief Commercial Officer

Harry has a passion for establishing positive team environments by leading by example, and enjoys helping people grow and reach their potential. His focus will be strategic management of the commercial growth of the Beyond brand whilst ensuring the core values of putting patients and doctors needs first is upheld in the process.

Jen Petrie

Jen Petrie is the Practice Manager for Beyond Radiology. With over 17 years' experience across healthcare and business administration, Jen oversees the day-to-day operation of the business and provides key support to both the Medical Director and Board of Directors. With a natural ability to lead and drive projects, Jen combines this with her incredible knowledge, passion for Radiology and focus on providing excellence in patient care. A Welsh ex-pat, Jen made the move to New Zealand in 2017. Outside of work, Jen will often be found exploring the great outdoors and all that New Zealand has to offer.

Serena Hitchings

Serena Hitchings is the Practice Manager for Beyond Radiology Christchurch. With an MRT background, she is dedicated to providing respectful and compassionate patient care. After training at CPIT (ARA), Serena spent 9 years working in Radiology at Middlemore Hospital in variety of roles including Team lead and Charge MRT. In 2021 she moved back to her hometown of Christchurch with her husband and two children. Serena now oversees the day-to-day operation of the Christchurch practice, working closely with and providing key support to the Medical Director.
