Clara Garcia has a bachelor´s degree in chemical engineering at the Polytechnic University of Valencia (Spain) and a master´s degree in environmental engineering. She did her bachelor´s thesis in the department of chemical engineering, separating and reducing chromium IV (toxic and carcinogenic) to chromium III (no n-toxic)in a electrochemical cell employing ceramic membranes. During her master´s thesi s, she developed a method of identification of bacteria by means fluorescence spectroscopy. In 2013 she did an internship in BOKU, in Austria and she stayed working in industry, in an international pharmaceutic company (Sandoz), in the quality control branch. In 2016 she got a position as a university assistant in the Technical University of Vienna (TU Wien), her research is now focuse d on material chemistry, concretely in the interaction between clusters and support and their correlation with catalytic properties.
