Bio I am Professor Emeritus of Medicine at Johns Hopkins University. I was division co-director from 1985-2005, division director from 2005-11, co-director of the Johns Hopkins Faculty Development Program for Clinician-Educators and director of its Programs in Curriculum Development from 1987-2013. My scholarship has focused on the psychosocial domain of medical practice, medical education and curriculum development. I am married to a judge, have three adult children (a musician, a med-peds physician, and a research manager), and one grandchild. I enjoy jogging, biking, traveling, reading, writing, cooking and fine food, and spending time with family and friends. Laura A. Hanyok

Dr. Hanyok serves as an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of General Internal Medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and holds a joint appointment in the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing in the Department of Community and Public Health. She currently serves as the Assistant Dean for Graduate Medical Education where she collaborates with training programs and clinical leaders to improve trainee well-being and optimize the clinical learning environment. Previously, Dr. Hanyok served as Director of Interprofessional Education for the School of Medicine. Her academic focus is medical education, and specifically residency education and interprofessional education. She has experience developing and implementing curricula in primary care, patient-centered care, interprofessional education and teamwork. Dr. Hanyok was awarded a Macy Faculty Scholar Award from the Josiah Macy Jr. Foundation, a highly selective career development award for educators in the health professions.
