Alana Francis de Govia

Alana Francis de Govia is an action-orientated leader with two successful decades of experience in the global nonprofit sector, developing strategy, social impact and cultural programs, and partnerships. At Common Impact, she manages and expands the firm's programs, including consulting with Fortune 500 companies and critical social change organizations and their field-building efforts targeting areas where skilled-based volunteering can play a stronger role in incubating new ideas, models and initiatives for change. She reports directly to Leila Saad, CEO of Common Impact. Alana joins Common Impact from the Africa Center in Harlem, where she serves as Chief Program & Experience Officer and has played an instrumental role in the organization's turnaround and growth. She began her nonprofit career teaching French in Guinea and then moved to London to secure a Master's in Reproductive and Sexual Health Research. For several years, Alana worked in public health on global AIDS relief at a Columbia University program in Lesotho, women's health at Pathfinder International, and HIV policy at the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation. Alana then broadened her career beyond public health and served as senior program advisor at Keep a Child Alive, Alicia Keys' foundation. That was before her move to the Africa Center, where she started around 200+ programs, created new exhibitions, and expanded impact to reach more than 200,000 people.

Ankita Callahan

Notably, at Long Dash, as VP of Talent & Culture, she led cultural shifts during the company's spin-off from The Atlantic, driving impactful talent strategies. Ann Fulton

As an Associate Consultant, Ann helps build partnerships and skills-based volunteering opportunities to strengthen the alliance between the corporate and nonprofit sectors to create meaningful social impact. Prior to joining Common Impact, Ann worked with the Inter-Parliamentary Union, a global organization of national parliaments, where she supported UN development projects and communications. Ann is passionate about social issues with a global nature, a niche she first discovered on a 2017 volunteer service trip to Cusco, Peru to teach English. In her undergraduate thesis, an exposition she titled "Care Work and Global Migration: A Critique of the Devaluation and Commodification of Women's Labor," Ann explored the urgent need for cross-sector social transformation from a feminist perspective. Ann graduated from New York University with a degree in Global Liberal Studies and additional studies in Economics and Data Science. During her time at NYU, Ann served as President to the Roosevelt Network, an undergraduate public policy think tank with national reach, where she led local advocacy projects and facilitated club life development. In her free time, Ann enjoys park picnics, second-hand shopping, reading, and lazy Sundays.

She was named head of Human Resources for Workplace Solutions in 2013, leading the HR, Leadership and Learning, and Site Strategy and Planning groups, while also contributing to enterprise-wide HR initiatives and strategies. In 2018, Anne assumed leadership of Strategy and Planning for Workplace Investing where she was responsible for leading the Data Governance, Business and Resource Planning, Supplier Management and Agile Readiness groups. In 2019, she also served as President of Fidelity Management Trust Company. Christina is a 15-year veteran of the consulting and event planning industries where she had the opportunity to work with businesses in various capacities. In her event planning days, Christina produced over 350 events across 5 industries with brands like Nike, Citigroup, Nelson Mandela's Peace Parks Foundation, Facebook, Edelman and G-Star. Christina developed her passion for creating unique experiences, project management, and business development while putting in long hours with hospitality giants such as the late Vince Steffan, Hudson Hotel, and Swank Productions. For almost 4 years, Christina ran an innovative real estate platform for pop-up events, turning New York's vacant spaces into brilliant visions. Conor Sutherland

As Common Impact's Director of Technology, Daria oversees the tech environment of the organization, data management, and streamlining the use of tech systems and processes. Her lifelong commitment to impact work started at 14 years old when she started volunteering at a pediatric hospital keeping kids company by helping them with homework and playing with them while their parents were at work. In the past 15 years, she has volunteered for and supported many local and global nonprofits, including UNICEF, Planned Parenthood, and True Colors United. Originally from Moscow, Daria moved to the U.S. in 2014 to pursue a career in music business as well as the freedom to be who she is as a part of the LGBTQ+ community. After graduating with Masters in Music Business Leadership, she joined an event management company as an operations manager and part-time event manager, coordinating and executing big production corporate events like AWS and Salesforce Conferences as well as private events like weddings and b'nei mitzvahs. While she loved the thrill, fast-paced environment, and creative problem-solving components of event production, Daria started seeking a more meaningful purpose for her work. She joined Black Girls Code, an educational nonprofit aimed at increasing representation of women of color in STEM, as an East Coast Office and Operations Manager. In this role, Daria supported the day-to-day operations of the organization, implemented new systems, and improved its tech environment. Daria has a B.A. in International Relations and Reginal Studies from MGIMO (Moscow State Institute of International Relations) and a M.S. in Music Business Leadership from Northeastern University. Dorri McWhorter is the CEO of the YMCA of Metro Chicago and the first woman and Black American to lead the organization. Prior to this, she served as CEO of the YWCA Metropolitan Chicago for over 8 years, where she embarked on a journey to transform the 140-year-old social service agency to a 21st century social enterprise. Dorri moved the agency into the digital age by re-launching the TechGYRLS program, which focuses on developing STEM awareness for girls ages 9 through 14 and introducing 3D: Developing Digital Diversity, which provides web and mobile application development training to adult women. In addition, Dorri lead the process for the YWCA to develop an exchange traded fund (ETF) for women's empowerment ($WOMN) in partnership with Impact Shares. Dorri was included in the inaugural list of "The Blue Network", comprised of the top 100 innovators in Chicago, by Chicago Tribune's Blue Sky Innovation and recognized by Good City Chicago receiving its Innovative Leader Award. She was also a 2019 inductee into the Chicago Innovation Hall of Fame and was named to Better's list of the Chicago-area's Top Black Women of Impact. Previously, Erica worked at Cause Strategy Partners as a Program Associate serving on the BoardLead team. Through BoardLead, Erica supported nonprofits across the nation in board development while training corporate clients in nonprofit board service. Her time at Cause Strategy Partners demonstrated the power of business for good and drove her passion to channel more resources into the nonprofit sector. Prior to Cause Strategy Partners, Erica was a recipient of a Fulbright Scholarship to South Korea where she served as an English teacher at Mireu Elementary School located in South Korea's newest governing province, Sejong City. In Korea, Erica rediscovered her interest in public service and desire to work for the greater good. Erica attended Binghamton University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with concentrations in Marketing and Supply Chain, and a minor in Korean Studies. Her small growing animal family consists of her gecko Mushu and pandemic puppy Duckie. Kerianne McManus

Kerianne joined the Common Impact staff after dedicating a year of service to the organization as an NYC Civic Corps member. As the Manager of Operations, she supports the day-to-day operations of organizational systems and processes related to knowledge management, data, HR, and facilities. Kerianne served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in the Kingdom of Tonga in the South Pacific. While there, she taught English at an elementary and middle school of 300 students. Prior to her Peace Corps service, Kerianne co-directed student-run nonprofit Seven Mile Arts. She is passionate about helping others leverage their unique skills and expertise to contribute to the ongoing work of activists within their own and global communities. Kevin Cavanaugh retired as IBM Vice President for Smarter Workforce Engineering in 2017 having been with the company for over 20 years leading strategy development, product management, and engineering teams both in the US and abroad. IBM has been a long-time leader in skills-based volunteering, launching its Corporate Service Corps program in 2008 which connects teams of IBM employees to government, business and civic leaders in emerging markets to address high-priority issues such as education, health, and economic development. Kevin spent four years leading engineering for IBM's HR cloud offerings including Watson Talent. He also served on the board of Boston CyberArts. He has an ongoing interest in how technology and technologists can make cultural and social contributions.

Laura Veno

Most recently, Laura oversaw the creation of workshops and provided tailored capacity-building support to community park groups at Partnerships for Parks. She has also served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Ukraine and supported entrepreneurial and English-language skill-building of student-athletes in her work with SEED Project Senegal. Laura earned an MA in Sustainable International Development from Brandeis University and a BA in International Studies from Elon University. She enjoys challenging herself with new sewing projects and spending time in her local parks with a book in hand.

Previously, Leila worked at the JEHT Foundation, where she helped to found and run grantmaking portfolio to support organizations working to challenge U.S. exceptionalism to international law and legal mechanisms. Lori was formerly Vice President of Client Engagement for Management Consulting firm BLEND360. She was consistently recognized for innovation and growth, developing unique corporate partnerships to support her client's business objectives and goals. Prior to that, Lori was the Director of Programs and Operations at CBS EcoMedia, a social impact team bringing together advertisers and nonprofits to address some of the most critical social and environmental issues. Lori built and managed Aspire Lifestyles, US Client Services team, and started her career at the American Express Company. She spent 10 years managing some of their most strategic merchant partnerships. Ngozi builds bridges in and between organizations and individuals to create opportunity and access. Her background includes leading initiatives at National Urban League and its affiliates, INSEAD, and Yale. Over the course of a career in social-sector leadership, Ngozi has led education, social justice, and community-based organizations to identify and meet their missions. She is expert at strategic planning and operations, leadership development, and innovation. She has special expertise in mapping and managing change for growth-stage enterprises. Ngozi initially viewed Custom Collaborative as a way to serve two constituencies: fashion-industry workers who deserve fair compensation and thoughtful consumers who want quality clothes that fit the body well. She innately understands the challenges facing women who love nice clothes but whose bodies do not conform to most ready-to-wear templates - the majority of US clothing buyers. Custom Collaborative has evolved to also work alongside designers who need skilled employees and production services, providing a valuable service to the industry. The organization also develops worker-owned cooperatives and other businesses, in support of equitable ownership and strong local economies. Prior to joining the Common Impact team, Nirmala was the Community Programs Manager at Rockaway Initiatives for Sustainability and Equity (RISE). She oversaw the planning and implementation of RISE's public programs as well as the management of corporate partners. Before RISE, Nirmala was the Senior National Service Program Coordinator at NYC Service, where she was essential in managing a 100-member program serving 50 nonprofits throughout the city. Before working at the NYC Mayor's office, she was the Program Associate at the New York Immigration Coalition, where she helped to launch the inaugural Women Empowered to Lead Immigration Navigators program. Prior to Debate Spaces, Tvizer was a Community Organizer at the Jamaica Plain Neighborhood Development Corporation, where he mobilized communities to advocate for creating affordable homes and championed economic justice. Tvizer's experience with volunteering at immigration justice and gun violence prevention organizations testifies to his ability to create alignment between volunteer skills and nonprofit needs. Sagie attended Brandeis University, where he earned a B.A in History and Politics with a minor in Legal Studies. He is a New Jersey native and currently resides in New York. In his free time, Sagie enjoys cooking, reading, and spending quality time with his cat.

Susanne is a social impact leader known for using her passion and drive to transform world-renown organizations like GBH and Fidelity Investments. By connecting people and purpose, Susanne builds partnerships for philanthropic and corporate citizenship initiatives. Susanne has focused her career advising stakeholders on strategic philanthropy, employee engagement initiatives, organizational development, board governance, and media relations for organizations including IDEXX, Mars Wrigley, Common Impact, New England Conservatory, and CDP. Prior to founding SE Salerno Consulting, Susanne spent over ten years at GBH, the leading national producer of PBS and NPR programs, advising the Board and executive management on fundraising strategy and governance. She was also Head of Foundation and Philanthropic Services at wealth management firm, Silver Bridge, where she guided family clients with $500M+ in assets; and as Director of Relationship Management for Fidelity Charitable. Susanne continues her vision for a better future by serving as a strategic advisor to Common Impact, and volunteering for Boston PAL, the PR Club of New England and Junior Achievement. Susanne also regularly serves as a volunteer for the CEO-led coalition on corporate purpose strategy, CECP. Susanne holds a MA in Public Policy from Tufts University and a BS in Business Administration from Villanova University, and the Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy designation. She currently resides just west of Boston and can be found testing recipes, cheering on her alma mater Villanova Wildcats, and exploring the beaches along the New England coast.
