Dr. Jan Dutz is Professor of Medicine and Dermatology and Head, Department of Dermatology & Skin Science at the University of British Columbia. He is a Senior Scientist with the Child and Family Research Institute (CFRI) where his research focus is the skin immune system and the manipulation of this system to both promote immune responses and induce tolerance.
Dr. Dutz is a rheumatologist and dermatologist. He has a special clinical interest in the cutaneous manifestations of autoimmunity. He has been on the Scientific Advisory Boards of the Canadian Institutes of Health' Institute of Musculoskeletal Health and Arthritis and the Canadian Dermatology Foundation. He has published over 50 papers and book chapters in the areas of skin biology, immunology and autoimmunity.

Rachael Manion is a seasoned executive with over 20 years' experience in health advocacy. A lawyer by profession with a strong background in policy analysis, she has consistently supported the not-for-profit sector in different managerial and volunteer roles throughout her career.
Rachael is committed to health literacy, evidence-informed decision-making, and patient engagement. Prior to joining the CSPA, she served as a lawyer for Health Canada and advised on the regulation of science policy and novel therapies and technologies. She helped patient organizations navigate the ever-changing policy, political and regulatory landscape across Canada, and was also a devoted frontline worker at a community health centre for the street-entrenched population.
Rachael is the former Executive Director of the Canadian Association of Psoriasis Patients (CAPP), which she ran alongside the CSPA from 2019 to 2022. She often participates as a guest speaker at international conferences on patient advocacy. An accomplished leader, Rachael excels at cultivating strategic collaborations to fulfill the mission of the CSPA and bring about positive change for people living with skin conditions.
