ACRYLICS AND MORE

I wanted to get into jewelry making because: one: I found I like it and two: I enjoy working with it. I started because I wanted jewelry in colors or styles that I couldn't find out in the stores. What better way to get what you want, than to make it yourself... My first necklace was working with my Mother-in-Law, before she was my mother-in-law, to create necklaces for a school project. She was involved with the PTA and they were going to have a carnival at the school. Somehow they/someone thought about selling jewelry, probably figuring it would mostly go to the kids. We took beads and thread, and a crochet hook. We crocheted the gold or silver thread, added in a bead, crocheted some more of the thread, added another bead, and continued. When I completed that project, I found some small, white-ish heart shaped beads with red mixed in - kind of like you see with marble stone. I had some silver thread, and followed the same pattern.
