The association is closely interwoven with the history of thermal spray development. Founded in 1948 as "Metallizing Service Contractors," the International Thermal Spray Association has been closely tied to virtually all major advances in thermal spray technology, equipment and materials, industry events, education, standards, and market development in North and South America.
