Project Kahikatea completed a survey of landowners across the Waikato Region to document the current condition of kahikatea stands and to identify what could be done to help landowners protect and enhance the remaining stands. A number of field days were held and newsletters produced, collating knowledge and experience on best management practices. Following this, a successful application to the Biodiversity Condition Fund has assisted a select number of landowners to fence their stands.
