SRDE focuses on the marginalized communities in rural areas of Jammu and Kashmir. These areas are mostly ignored by the administration, and on the other hand the population too is not well capacitated with required skills and awareness... Jammu and Kashmir has been a conflict region since many decades now. Apart from the direct human rights violation as a consequence of this conflict, there are many other threats to the human security. Due to over emphasis on the bigger conflict, many administrative and developmental flaws get ignored, hence depraving the people of fundamental rights, like livelihood, education, health etc. Ignorance by the administration and unawareness amongst the community are one of the major reasons due to which the people of this state has been caught up into a vicious cycle of poverty. Due to the ongoing conflict, Environmental concerns too have taken a backstage. Apart from directly engaging with Human Rights violation, SRDE focuses on these mentioned issues..
