EDGE Games is an independent video game publisher. EDGE Games , EDGE and THE EDGE are the brand names that have been used by various EDGE Games predecessors since first used by EDGE's original predecessor in rights Softek International Ltd in London in 1984. However, EDGE Games (EDGE) is not a U.S. corporation founded in 1990, as some Internet sources falsely state it is. A veteran independent game developer and publisher, EDGE was formed in London in 1981 and is the UK's oldest computer game company. Within a year EDGE was also operating out of Southern California and is thus one of the US's oldest game companies, too. EDGE is currently headquartered in Pasadena, California with the majority of its intellectual property assets held by the California corporation EDGE Games, Inc.,but also still operates out of London, England as it has continuallly since 1981.
