Thirty seven years of experience as a Senior Bureaucrat. Served in the states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. After serving for two years as Chief Secretary (Senior most Civil Servant) of Government of Telangana, Dr. Joshi after superannuating on 31st Dec 2019, is currently advisor to Govt. of Telangana.
Shailendra had participated and represented India in a large number of international negotiations and had been associated with the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development at Rio de Janeiro (1992) to United Nations Conference on sustainable development at Johannesburg (2002). He had been the national focal point of India for climate change, Global Environment Facility (GEF), Clean Development Mechanism (CDM), and Joint Implementation (JI).
Shailendra is an alumnus of the two most prestigious Indian Institute of Technologies in India namely IIT, Roorkee (Bachelor of Engineering), and IIT, Delhi (Master of Technology). He holds a Doctoral degree in the field of public policy. His Ph.D. Dissertation on "Intergovernmental Fiscal Transfers and the Environment" (the TERI School of Advanced Studies) is dedicated to a topic at the cusp of the economic theory of federalism and environmental concerns.
Shailendra is one of the first LEAD fellows (Leadership for Environment and Development, London) from India belonging to the Cohort of 1991. He is also a fellow of the institution of engineers.
Emmanuel Murray joined Caspian in November 2016, to lead our market development & institution building efforts with a focus on the Food & Agriculture space.
Prior to joining Caspian, Emmanuel spent 5 years with Maanaveeya Development & Finance Ltd, the Indian subsidiary of Oikocredit (a Netherlands-based International Development Finance Co-operative), as Deputy Managing Director, in charge of operations. Prior to this, he worked for 25 years with NABARD across various departments & geographies, his final role as General Manager in Himachal Pradesh.
Emmanuel holds a B Com(Hons) from Osmania University, Hyderabad, a Post-Graduate degree in Rural Management from the Indian Institute of Rural Management (IRMA), and an M. Phil in Development Studies from the Centre for Economic & Social Studies, Hyderabad.

Prior to Caspian, Kamal has been a development finance and strategy professional, having over 10 years of experience across the skills development, banking, advisory services and IT. Earlier, he was part of the Government Advisory team with Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PwC India) along with being a freelancer enabling start-up entities to develop and implement strategies in the skill development space. Prior to this, he was with National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), wherein he led the program development team to nurture sustainable investments and maintain relationships with the existing portfolio of investments. He also led the Centre Affiliation and Innovations verticals at NSDC. Having previously also worked in corporate & SME banking and having exposure to software development, Kamal has worked across varied sectors and geographies which has given him exposure to the investment space with a key focus on social enterprises.
Kamal holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Indore and holds a B.Tech. in Information & Communication Technology.

Karel Nierop joined the microfinance investment team of Triodos Bank in June 2012 as an investment officer for Asia. After graduating from the Hotel Management School Maastricht, Karel went on to receive his Master's degree in Business Administration from Erasmus University Rotterdam, writing his final thesis on Business Ethics. He gained banking experience at the corporate banking department of Rabobank in the Netherlands, where he was involved in a wide range of sectors including renewable energy.
Prior to joining Triodos Bank, Karel worked in Nepal as a financial advisor for a new hydropower project and was also involved in a financial inclusion project.
Kritika has joined as Impact Associate and is part of C-FLIP program. Prior to Caspian, she has interned with Seedworks International and Future Retail Ltd.
Krati Garg is part of the strategic initiatives team. Prior to joining Caspian, she has worked with a multinational energy company as a Project Economist to determine the economic feasibility of multibillion-dollar energy projects globally. Later she founded her own venture to provide personal financial education and customized financial planning for women. She is a licensed financial adviser.
Krati holds B.Tech in Chemical Engineering from IIT Delhi (2007) and MBA from IIM Bangalore (2011). She is passionate about reading and traveling.
Mahesh Kanumury has over 20 plus years of experience in venture capital, management consulting and operating experience. He is the Managing Director & Founder of Arivali Partners where he provides investment and advisory services to social enterprises.He was the General Partner at a $260M early stage venture capital fund based out of the Silicon Valley where he invested and successfully nurtured the growth and successful exit of several technology companies. He also worked at McKinsey in the US and India where he led a number of high-impact initiatives at the CXO level.
Prior to McKinsey, he worked at Schlumberger Technologies and Research where he led large scale software development efforts.He is Independent Director on the Board of Caspian Impact Investments Private Limited and also Director on the Board of Basix Sub-K Itransactions Limited. He holds MBA Degree from Harvard Business School, an MS in Engineering from Purdue University and BS in Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai

Masoom is part of the Portfolio Risk Management team. He has completed his PGDM from the Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA). Prior to joining Caspian, he interned with Future Retail and has 3 years of work experience with Tata Consultancy Services. At TCS his role involved performing application enhancements and automating essential business processes.
Before completing PGDM, Masoom graduated in Electronics and Communications Engineering from Gujarat Technological University.

Ms. Praseeda Kunam is the promoter and CEO of Samhita Community Development Services, operating in Central India.
Praseeda has over 19 years of experience in the areas of microfinance, financial literacy and advising small and microenterprises and was the founding team at SKS Microfinance as Head of Operations.

Narayan Ramachandran is ex-Chairman RBL Bank and Chairman & co-Founder of InKlude Labs, a social business enterprise working in the field of education and public health. InKlude Labs has dewormed 35 million children in 2013 working in collaboration with the State Governments of Bihar, Rajasthan and Delhi.
He was most recently Country Head of Morgan Stanley India, leading all of the Group's businesses. Prior to these roles, Narayan was the Head and lead portfolio manager of Morgan Stanley's Global Emerging Markets and Global Asset Allocation teams, managing over $25 billion in assets. He joined Morgan Stanley in 1996 and has over 20 years of investment experience. Before joining the firm, he was a managing director at Rogers Casey (now CRA Rogers Casey). He began his career at Goldman Sachs.
Narayan received a B.Tech. in chemical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay and an M.B.A. from the University of Michigan. Narayan holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation. He is on the board of several entrepreneurial companies and foundations. Narayan has a keen interest in using market-based solutions in areas such as micro-finance, social venture capital, skill-development, micro-insurance and affordable housing. He co-invests with a few private equity funds that he works with. He writes a fortnightly column titled "A Visible Hand" for The Mint Newspaper published by Hindustan Times Group in collaboration with the Wall Street Journal in India.

At Caspian, Nishant would be part of the Underwriting team, monitoring Caspian's debt portfolio and supporting the investment team on the financial analysis for new credit proposals. Prior to Caspian,Nishant worked with RBL Bank, as Credit Analyst for the Mid-market segment in the South & West region involved with working capital & term loan requirements of customers.

Mr. Paul DiLeo is President and Founder of Grassroots Capital Management, an impact investment manager based in the US, and since 2003 has launched and advised six impact investment funds with total capital of $300mm to date. Paul has been engaged in development finance since the early 1990s, launching an investment fund in Russia, small business financing programs in Eastern Europe, the Gray Ghost Microfinance Fund, and Grassroots Capital Management. Paul has undertaken numerous program and institutional assessments over the years, ranging from strategic reviews of mission driven companies in the US and India; evaluations of ProFund, AfriCap and World Bank programs in Bosnia; product costing analyses of microfinance institutions; and design of initiatives of the IADB, the Ford Foundation, and the Swedish Development Agency, among others.
In 2013-14 Paul participated in a team providing recommendations to the U.S. Treasury and others on how to enhance support for small and microbusinesses in the U.S. Paul has been a director of numerous microfinance institutions and impact investment funds, and has been a member of the advisory bodies of many microfinance and impact industry associations.
Paul has written and spoken extensively on how best to design and deliver on the potential of social and impact investing and was recognized as a "B Corp Champion" in October 2014. Before his work in development finance, Paul worked for 12 years at the US Treasury and Federal Reserve focused on international finance and capital markets and earned an M.A. in Economics at Boston University

Ranganathan Varadarajan Dilip Kumar, Sr. VP & CFO, Samridhi In-Charge Dilip has been with SVCL since its inception in 1999 and was part of the core team which had set up SIDBI Ventures, SIDBI Trustee Company and NFSIT. At Caspian Equity, Ruchi is Legal counsel and is responsible for corporate advisory, legal documentation, transactional negotiations and statutory compliance. Prior to joining Caspian Equity, Ruchi worked for over 10 years with leading law firms in Mumbai and Hyderabad, where she advised domestic and offshore clients on matters pertaining to foreign and domestic investments and exits, M&A, real estate, human capital, commercial litigation and dispute resolution.
Ruchi is a gold medallist in tax laws and holds B.A.LL.B. (Hons.) from Hidayatullah National Law University, Raipur. She is experienced in varied aspects of fund management and private equity transactions, from structuring to negotiating, documentation and implementation. Her practice spans a wide spectrum of corporate commercial laws which includes advising & assisting clients on matters and issues relating to employment, education, foreign direct investment, retail, manufacturing, disciplinary, workplace investigations, POSH Conciliations/inquiries and ethics.

Sanjoy leads on the Environment & Sustainability portfolio. He provides oversight on deals and guidance on the overall strategic approach towards building Caspian's portfolio in this sector.
Sanjoy is also the Founder of Regain Paradise which works with investors, entrepreneurs, consultancies and think tanks to promote environmental innovation in emerging Asia and Africa. He has worked on several projects with leading sustainability consulting firms Adelphi and Tetratech. He has also been worked with WRI, the leading global think tank in the area of environment and development. His work experience ranges from Bangladesh, Cambodia, Myanmar, India (in Asia), Kenya, Ghana and Tanzania (in Africa). Sanjoy is also a Visiting Fellow at the Judge Business School, University of Cambridge.

Sushant is currently the Regional Manager for Caspian Debt, based out of Bangalore. He manages the local office and leads the team that builds & manages the partnerships and portfolios across Karnataka,TN & Kerala.
Prior to joining us in May 2016 as an Investment associate, Sushant worked as a Product Manager with Fincare SFB where he helped set up the cross-sales vertical for financing solar lights, mobile phones, and pensions for microfinance customers. Earlier,he was the area sales manager for the vehicle (tractor) finance business for a large NBFC. He started his career in 2010 as an Assistant Systems Engineer with Tata Consultancy Services.
Sushant holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Management from the Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA) and a B.Tech in Biotechnology from Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT,Vellore).
