Anton is a Director in the firm's London office, with significant experience in advising his clients in all aspects of statutory reporting, financing, corporate and personal tax compliance, and a specific expertise in accessing the creative sector tax reliefs. His client base includes major US film studios and TV broadcasters, independent production companies and individuals in the film and TV industries, as well as several video game development companies and multinational publishers. Anton has worked on a broad range of projects, including "Succession" (TV), "The Midnight Sky" (streaming platform), "Bridgerton" (streaming platform), "Death on the Nile" (film), "Sea of Thieves" (video game) and "The Dark Pictures Anthology"(video game). Anton qualified as a chartered accountant in 2011 and joined Saffery Champness in 2012. He has been advising clients in the media and creative sectors for over 10 years. Anton is a keen sports fan, following with bated breath the trials and tribulations of his football team, Liverpool FC, and dealing with the inevitable disappointment by going skiing in the Alps. He also enjoys reading early modern literature, particularly from the interwar period in Europe.

Carolyn Aitken

Carolyn specialises in tax for private clients, dealing with a wide range of clients, but with a particular focus on landed estate clients and high net worth individuals. Trusts play an important aspect in many of the arrangements that Carolyn is involved in, including both UK and non-resident trusts. Carolyn provides technical support to the partners in all areas of private client tax from the annual tax compliance process to complex planning issues. She has a responsibility within the office for training in relation to income tax, capital gains tax and inheritance tax. She regularly presents at both internal and external seminars and training conferences. Carolyn joined Saffery Champness in 2000 having qualified at a ‘big four' firm in Edinburgh. Carolyn is a member of a choir that regularly performs at local events. She is a fair weather rambler and enjoys holidaying in the Lake and Peak Districts and the north of Scotland.

Casidhe specialises in providing advice and support to a range of clients from not-for-profit entities to landed estates and corporate businesses. Casidhe manages all of the not-for-profit clients in the Bournemouth office that include care providers, private schools, museums and grant making bodies. As well as the usual compliance matters this has included assisting with areas such as governance, systems and controls and budgeting. She also advises corporate directors, owners and trustees on audit, accounting and tax matters. Casidhe is a member of the firm's national Not-for-Profit Group.

David Sedgwick

David's client base consists principally of owner managed business, high net worth individuals and owners of landed estates and their associated enterprises. David is a Chartered Certified Accountant and Chartered Tax Advisor and provides pragmatic support and advice to meet his client's requirements across a number of sectors. He is also a ‘responsible individual' and supervises the provision of annual audit services for his corporate clients. David is also a member of the firm's Land and Rural Practice Group and Estates Discussion Group and presents annually, both internally and externally, speaking at RICS, CAAV events and Saffery Champness updates. He has previously lectured at the Royal Agricultural University and Harper Adams University supporting the masters and undergraduate Land Management programmes respectively.

Jamie Lane

Jamie works with owner-managed businesses, private equity backed businesses, international groups, professional practices and AIM listed companies. Jamie is focused foremost on providing a high level of personal service to his clients and prides himself on staying close to his clients all year round. With a background in providing audit and transactional services, Jamie enjoys working alongside clients to help them realise their ambitions. He has experience of dealing with a wide range of UK GAAP and IFRS issues, SRA Accounts Rules as well as supporting clients through the acquisition and disposal process and other transactional support services. Jamie has experience of working across a wide range of sectors that include professional practices, marine, automotive, recruitment, technology and property. After undertaking two international secondments within the Nexia network, Jamie has continued to develop his network and experience of supporting international groups, both with meeting their local statutory requirements and group reporting requirements, but also with acquisitions. Jamie joined Saffery Champness in 2019 after spending fifteen years of his career at a top 10 accountancy and investment group.

John Gleeson

John joined Saffery Champness as a Tax Partner in April 2019 when the firm acquired Grant Thornton Ireland's Media and Entertainment Practice. He is the head of the Dublin Office. John began his career in tax in 1995 and has over 20 years' commercial experience in providing tax advisory services to individuals and corporates across a broad range of issues. He spent seven years at a Big 4 firm where he was acknowledged as a leading technical expert in interpreting taxation legislation. He then spent nine years at a mid-tier firm where he was Tax Partner. He is a skilled negotiator of technical tax issues and has finalised countless Revenue audit settlements. In 2014, he moved to Grant Thornton where he led their local and global Media and Entertainment Practice. He has particular experience in financing film and television projects, having raised finance and advised on a broad range of transactions involving numerous large international television series, animation series for the US market and countless feature films, including: Nightflyers, Game of Thrones, Room, The Breadwinner and Star Wars Episode VIII- The last Jedi. He is acknowledged as the leading expert on the Irish Film and Television Tax Credit, Section 481.

Sinead qualified as a chartered accountant in 2009 in Dublin before moving to London and joining Saffery Champness in 2010. Sinead acts for a wide range of clients, from small independent film and television production companies to major US and UK film studios and television broadcasters. Sinead relocated to Dublin in July 2017 and continued work with her US and UK client base and London team. She provides specialist advice on claiming creative sector tax reliefs and has a depth of experience in the UK Cultural Test and qualifying co-productions, as well as providing auditing and accounting services. Sinead joined John Gleeson and his team when we opened our Dublin office in April 2019. Since then Sinead has been involved in both the UK tax reliefs and the Irish Film and Television Tax Credit, Section 481.
