Gerry Hill - CEO, Founder

Gerry has been involved with Airbox since leaving the Armed Forces 11 years ago. He is a Director alongside William Moore, the CEO of the company. Gerry spent 45 years in the Armed Forces, all with specialist units, the majority of which were with 22 SAS Regiment where he spent 34 years. During this period, he saw service in major conflicts: Northern Ireland, the Falkland Islands, the Balkans, the Middle East and Afghanistan as well as being deployed in a number of other countries where there was British interest. Many of the positions he held throughout his career, especially whilst serving with 22 SAS Regiment have particular relevance to the role he undertakes at Airbox today. He previously worked extensively with the Emergency Services though particularly with the police where, as befitted someone of his rank and experience he planned, prepared and ran training and operations within the counter-terrorism arena. He also worked and operated with a number of Other Government Departments. Whilst serving, Gerry received four gallantry awards - two Queen's Gallantry Medals (QGM) and two Mention in Dispatches (MID), a Commander in Chief Commendation (CINC) for valuable service as well as being created a Member of the British Empire (MBE). Gerry is also the CEO of a military charity called Hire A Hero - a charity he set up on leaving the Armed Forces and which he still runs today. Its focus lies in supporting Service Personnel on their transition from Service to Civilian life.

Joanna Mower - COO

Jo joined Airbox in 2021 as COO, sitting on the Board and heading up the Executive team. Her background spans business finance in both private and public sectors, focussing on the technology industry, helping drive scale and realise ambitions. Prior to this, she was Private Secretary in the Dept for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy. Jo brings significant experience in establishing company infrastructure - spanning people, technology, policy and regulatory compliance, and assumes responsibility for ensuring Airbox's delivery meets customers' demands, and the strategic goals of the business.

Mike Peckham - Chairman

Mike is a long-standing company director, NED and coach to C-Suite executives and teams. He brings to bear his practical experience of working with executive teams and boards, with a deep understanding of human nature. He describes his work as being able to get the ‘right conversation in the room at the right time'. He works internationally with teams and leaders from the public, private and third sector. His work with outstanding leaders in a rapidly changing context has shaped his thinking about how leaders must shift how they think about what they do and is co-author of the book ‘Network Leadership: Navigating and Shaping our Interconnected World', published by Routledge in 2023. Since 1989 he has been managing director of PSA Training and Development and in 2019 he became managing partner at Gadhia Consultants. He has worked with Virgin Money, De Beers Diamonds, Starbucks, Total Exploration and Production, EDF and the Development Bank of Ghana. He has worked extensively in West and Sub-Saharan Africa. In 2021 he was a member of the Royal United Services Institute team that published the paper ‘The UK's Response to Cyber Fraud: A Strategic Vision' that identified fraud as the most common crime type that affects all UK citizens and called for a Home Office led and coordinated strategy to fight cyber enabled crime. He is a Chair and non-executive director of Airbox Systems providing mission support, situational awareness, location tracking and control to UK Armed Forces, Emergency Services and Policing; and non-executive director of Lumus360 ™ an organisation that provides online 360-degree feedback and psychometrics. He is a Trustee of the Armed Forces charity Hire a Hero; Chair of the trauma recovery charity the SAFE Foundation; and founding Trustee of the Virgin Money Foundation. He is a member of the Advisory Board to Kina a firm providing Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) consultancy to businesses across Africa; he is an advisor to TriploESG a specialist ESG audit firm. He is a Visiting Fellow at the Business School of the University of South Wales. He is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and the Royal Society of Arts and a member of the Royal United Services Institute. He has lectured at the MoD's Defence Academy, Shrivenham.

Pete Taylor

Following 26 years as an Army Helicopter Pilot, Pete went on to head up Business Development at a Global Defence Company. Continuing to specialise in aviation he now heads up the Aviation team at Airbox increasing the market presence and expanding to International markets. Pete is responsible for the Accounts team which looks after Airbox clients.

William Moore - CEO, Founder

William is co-founder and CEO of Airbox Systems, with more than thirteen years of entrepreneurial experience in situational awareness provision. Having studied Engineering at Bristol University William founded his first business at 21 specialising in the supply of fixed wing aircraft parts. Airbox was born in 2008 as a solution to navigation for private pilots, the system was quickly taken up by medical response helicopters with Dorset Air Ambulance leading the way. By 2011 the expansion into the emergency services sector was a defining the future of Airbox. With a focus on innovation, safety and the highest level of customer service, Airbox became one of the leading providers of situational awareness amongst the emergency services. The focus now was to connect air and ground responders and create a clear operating picture that brought the emergency services together. William's strong leadership has enabled the business to support more than 75,000 emergency services operations annually across the UK, his extensive experience in assessing the technological needs of customers and translating goals into software has provided a strong foundation for a connected operational picture.
