ABBY-JAI FERREIRA

Abby joined us in April 2022. With a degree in Business and Marketing, Abby has experience in various different sectors including previous farming experience. Abby supports the team in the running of the farming business and is excited to be on the journey towards a regenerative future.

EMMA LODER-SYMONDS

Job Titles:
  • Director and Owner of NFL. Teacher
Having gained a degree in Geography at University of Durham, she went on to complete a Masters in Rural Estate Management at Royal Agricultural College, Cirencester, before qualifying as a rural chartered surveyor with Strutt & Parker. Emma then changed tack and became a teacher, qualifying in 2007. She is currently able to combine these two professions by running the farm with James, and focusing on the learning visits carried out on the farm. "I love nothing more than facilitating outdoor education for all ages, enabling connections to be made between the beautiful countryside and wildlife people see and food production everyone enjoys."

James Loder-Symonds

Job Titles:
  • Director and Owner of NFL. Agronomist and BASIS and FACTS Qualified. CEVAS Qualified
Having completed a degree in Farm Business Management at Imperial College Wye in Farm Business Management, James trained as an agronomist before coming home to run the farm in 2003. He developed a contract farming business which he took over in 2013 when Nonington Farms was born.

PHILIP COOPER

Job Titles:
  • Foreman
Philip joined Nonington Farms in March 2023. After studying Agriculture at Plumpton College, Philip travelled around Australia and has previously worked on various arable farms in Sussex. He is very keen on the technical side of things and is interested in incorporating technology to improve efficiency wherever possible.

RICHARD JORDAN

Richard joined NFL back in 2003 when James started to run the farm. In the summer he is in charge of combining the crops on our combine harvester and running the harvest team of corn carters. The rest of the year he manages the crop establishment, getting to grips with our regenerative agricultural practices of direct drilling.
