David Smith

David has extensive experience of advising on complex transactions in the UK and internationally gained with PwC, Merrill Lynch and Grant Thornton where he was Director in in the Government and Infrastructure advisory practise. He has led financial advice on privatisation, outsourcing and PPP transaction to both the private and public sectors. His experience includes energy and utilities, and social or health care, waste, education, emergency services, corporate services and IT. David is also an expert in business valuations having been a member of the PwC valuations practice, where he specialised in energy and utilities and the application of advanced valuation techniques to technology company valuation. He developed his personal interest in the application of valuation techniques to sustainability during this time. He was an original author of the ICAEW guidance on valuations in its Corporate Finance Manual and was a badged valuer at Grant Thornton, specialising in renewables valuation and PFI secondary market valuations. David is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and has an Economics degree and MBA. He is a member of the ICAEW Valuations and Corporate Finance faculties.
