Cassie joined Brooking Ruse in 2008 as a trainee accountant and quickly realised she had an aptitude for tax matters.
She geared her training towards specialising in personal taxation and is now the firm's 'go-to' person when dealing with more complex tax matters.
Cassie has a wide ranging client portfolio having acquired all the necessary accounting skills before adding a deep knowledge of tax rules and regulation.
Cassie oversees and supports our tax department and also manages the firm's payroll bureau. She qualified as a Chartered Tax Adviser in 2016 and continues to update her knowledge to ensure she can advise clients based on the latest tax law.
Ian joined the firm in 1996 having worked in the profession since 1980. Ian's experience and vast technical knowledge is invaluable to both Brooking Ruse and his clients. Ian is also involved with the day to day management of the practice which enables him to closely relate to the problems of running a business.
Ian heads up the firm's audit team and also utilises his technical knowledge to ensure Brooking Ruse is compliant.

Les is a general practice accountant servicing a wide variety of clients including sole traders, partnerships and limited companies, from our offices in Portishead and Weston-super-Mare. Les has developed a hands on approach with all of his clients and prides himself on providing a friendly professional service. Les joined Brooking Ruse in 1989 as a trainee accountant, but after five years left to broaden his experience as a senior accountant. Les originally qualified as a Certified Accountant before switching to the Institute of Chartered Accountants in 2009.
In June 2002 Les returned to Brooking Ruse to take up a senior role and now manages the Portishead office whilst continuing to develop a growing portfolio.
Liz joined Brooking Ruse in December 2006 after qualifying as a Chartered Accountant and looks after a wide range of clients including sole traders, partnerships, limited companies, charities and solicitors. Liz supports the firm's audit team with her practical and technical awareness and mentors the firm's professional trainees.
Following the acquisition of Mendip Vale Accountants in 2014, Liz manages our Winscombe office and has continued to increase the firm's presence within the area.
Michael joined the firm in 1991 as a trainee accountant and progressed to qualify as a Chartered Accountant. Michael is very much an 'all-rounder' dealing with all types of small and medium sized unincorporated and incorporated clients, including established family businesses and start-ups. As well as supervising the production of year end accounts, Michael advises clients on the implementation and maintenance of their accounting systems and a wide range of tax matters.
Michael has an ever increasing client base located mainly in the South-West but stretching from London in the East and Cornwall in the West. Michael assists Les Cox in managing our Portishead office.
Robbie joined the firm in 1988, initially as partner's assistant to Norman Brooking, and is now managing director of Brooking Ruse. Since qualifying in 1993, Robbie has managed an ever increasing and varied portfolio of clients with a bias towards small and medium sized limited companies.
Robbie believes, wherever possible, in establishing a close working relationship with clients to understand their business and the personalities behind it. Not everyone has the same goals.
More recently, Robbie (on behalf of Brooking Ruse) has been an active part of a local consortium working with EDF on the Hinkley Point C Nuclear Power Station construction project.
