My Career History I started my career in retail at the age of 16, working part-time whilst studying at college. I spent 15 years working my way up from part-time assistant to Senior Out of Hours Manager. On my journey I managed across all Trading areas of the store including Bakery which was by far the best. I also managed a few store Refresh and Refit Programmes and this is where my relationship with RMS started. What I Do At RMS My goal is to help take RMS to the next level by diversifying our current offerings to our retail partners. Over the next 12 months I want to increase the amount of installation work and really think outside the box when it comes to offering our partners a flexible workforce solution. Interests Outside of Work I am a proud father to 2 amazing children and am very lucky to have been supported by my wife over the last 16 years in my career. Together we are very fortunate to own a caravan and we spend most weekends away together. I also enjoy trying to play golf and am a very keen Liverpool fan.

Job Titles:
  • Member of the Chief Officers Team
My career history: After graduating in Chemistry, I was elected in 2009 as President of the University of Bath Students' Union. In this role I chaired the Board of Trustees, led the team of five elected Vice-Presidents and worked closely with the senior management to oversee all the union's and university's strategic developments. I was successfully re-elected in 2010 and loved every moment of it. Without this experience, I would never have been able to do what I have done in RMS to continue my father's legacy. What I do at RMS: Aside from being ultimately accountable for the running of RMS and flex, I am responsible for keeping the Chief Morale Officer happy. After all, Murphy the dog has one of the most important roles in the organisation! After my father passed away, my brother Connah and I were left in an incredibly difficult position as dad was vital to most things RMS. Since then, we have made sure to bring some of the best minds in the business to support the development of the organisation, with the appropriate succession and transparency to allow the business to prosper. I strive to keep morale strong and ensure that everyone in the organisation positively embraces our core values and purpose every day. Interests outside of work: Family is important to most people, and I would not be where I am without the support of mine. I love spending time with all of them, particularly my wife Alex - and Murphy of course. I love all sport and whilst my favourite team-sport is rugby, I am passionate about extreme sports and adore being outside. Free weekends are spent with the family, in the campervan sleeping under the stars and not knowing where the following day's journey will take us.

Career History I've worked in RMS since I was 12 weeks' old, so I don't have any previous experience. It was tough in those early days but now, with over a year's experience I know what my role is and I love every moment! What I do at RMS I'm pretty sure I've got the best job in the business. As Chief Morale Officer, my job is to keep everyone as happy and as motivated as possible. There's a lot of evidence that suggests people perform to their potential when morale is at its highest, so my role is simple - get the best out of people by keeping them happy. Sometimes, this takes a bit of convincing, maybe a hop up, and a kiss if needed! Sometimes I get a little carried away but I think I do a great job of greeting our visitors to the office. They always seem surprised to see me, so I always return the feeling with a strong tail wag. Interests outside of work I love running. My favourite place is the beach where I can go for a dip in the sea to cool off when I need to. I love it when people bring me treats. Oh, and chicken - I love chicken!

My career history: I previously worked for the Co-op before joining RMS, I spent just over 26 years in numerous roles from Customer Service Assistant, through Trainee Manager whilst doing my Degree to then moving into Store management which led to subsequently numerous roles in the field, working remotely. My last two roles were running an area in Nottingham with 24 stores and over 400 colleagues and then finally before joining RMS I moved into our logistics team as a senior project manager, looking into better ways of working and how costs can be controlled and savings made across the business before then putting those new plans in place and managing the rollout of them across the estate and in our warehouses. What I do at RMS: I am loving my new role at RMS as a Partnership Manager, it is a challenging role as it is so varied from day to day, fundamentally I manage the accounts and relationship of our DIY partners, some of the biggest businesses in the UK. We are responsible for managing the end to end projects in new Format and Neutron refit work. The role is about bringing everyone together for successful transformation, the project managers, logistics team, operations team to then the installation teams who are instore making the magic happen, it is overseeing the whole account, managing expectations and being super agile when we hit problems, as well as being day to day it is also being as focused on the future as possible, it's fun and really rewarding and the whole team are brilliant. Interests outside of work: Outside of work I enjoy life as mush as possible, getting together with friends, family, time with my wife Kelly a Nurse Practitioner and my daughter Isla who is 11. I am also a District Councillor for Mansfield and the Manager of Ollerton Town Football Club a semi-professional team in Nottinghamshire, both very different but both give me a great sense of enjoyment and purpose.

My Career History My retail career began when I was 16 and I worked part time at my local Tesco store and then went on to work at Cath Kidston. After completing my A-Levels I decided not to go down the University route and instead I embarked on a Level 4 Retail Management Apprenticeship with John Lewis and Waitrose, which taught me many practical business management skills across a broad range of divisions. I have since worked in retail support agencies and spent the last few years working in marketing and communications. I enjoy the diversity and challenge of the digital marketing world, where no two days are the same and you have to constantly evolve to keep up with changes in consumer demands and technology trends. What I Do At RMS As Marketing Manager, my main responsibility is to manage the RMS brand communications. Like most businesses nowadays, most of our marketing and communication is done via digital and social channels. Another important aspect to my role is the internal communications to ensure we have a robust communication stream with our network of merchandisers working across the country. Interests Outside of Work Outside of work you will find me walking my dog, at the stables with my horse or spending time with family and friends. I'm a country girl at heart so I love being outside as much as possible and I'm also a massive foodie (who isn't!?) so I love getting the chance to find new great places to eat at the weekends.
