James Mathews Stiller, Jr. was born and raised in Shreveport, Louisiana. After a career as an officer in the United States Air Force, Matt attended Widener University School of Law, in Wilmington, Delaware, and began his career as a jury trial lawyer. Matt resides in Milford, Delaware.

Joe Stanley is an Associate Attorney with Schwartz & Schwartz, Attorneys at Law who practices in Delaware, Maryland and Pennsylvania. Joe's passion is in protecting and defending the individual rights of clients. You will seldom find anyone so dedicated to their client's success.
Joe earned his Juris Doctor from Seton Hall University School of Law. Prior to that, Joe earned a Master's Degree in Urban Affairs and Public Policy from University of Delaware, as well as his undergraduate Bachelor's Degree with double majors in Political Science and Philosophy, and double minors in History and Legal Studies. He has served as a law clerk at Schwartz & Schwartz for two years prior to becoming an attorney and as a law clerk to Andres De Cos, Esq. in Wilmington, Delaware for two years prior to that. In addition, he worked as a Judicial Extern to the Hon. Charles W. Welch, III in the Court of Common Pleas in Dover, Delaware. Joe also served as a Legislative Fellow for the House Minority Caucus in the Delaware House of Representatives in 2011.
Joe is a classic car enthusiast and has owned numerous interesting cars that include: a '79 Corvette, a '67 Mustang, 70 Mustang, '67 Barracuda, a '66 Galaxie. Joe is also an avid chess player and often involved in local political campaigns.

Robert C. Collins, II is a graduate of Milford High School, University of Delaware and Rutgers University School of Law. The focus of Rob's law practice is jury trial work. In one recent trial, Rob's participation resulted in a nearly $300,000.00 verdict for our client. That verdict was sustained on appeal by the Supreme Court of Delaware.

Scott Smith joined Schwartz & Schwartz, Attorneys at Law as a Senior Case Manager. You can read about our official announcement here. Scott was a Claims Specialist III at Nationwide from 2001 to 2014 where he had responsibility for multiple lines of injury claims, including personal injury, bodily injury, dog bite injury, homeowner legal liability, fatalities and catastrophic injury. Prior to his engagement by Nationwide, he spent six years at AIG as a Claims Representative, and eight years at General Accident Insurance Company as a defense litigation paralegal. Scott holds a Bachelors Degree in Business Management from Penn State University.
Scott Smith works with the attorneys in the firm to manage and consult on personal injury and wrongful death claims. Scott is also available for mediation in wrongful death and personal injury claims. Scott is a Delaware Superior Court certified Mediator. One of the things Scott enjoyed doing at Nationwide was coordinating and conducting "settlement days". Scott is available to carriers and defense counsel to conduct "settlement day" conferences at Schwartz & Schwartz or off-site.

Steven Schwartz was a college professor before attending law school. He moved from New Jersey to Delaware in 1967 to teach physics and calculus at Wesley College in Dover. Steven holds undergraduate and masters degrees in physics from Temple University. In 1974 he obtained his JD from Rutgers University School of Law in Camden, New Jersey. Steven was admitted to practice law in Delaware in 1974. He is the founder and senior partner of the firm. Steven maintains primary responsibility for the firm's real estate litigation, corporate and business litigation, and Court of Chancery practice.
