Dr. Anthony Benigno

Dr. Anthony Benigno is a licensed clinical psychologist (PSY26432), father of five young children, and husband to a beautiful wife. He hails from the Bay Area and is the product of a traditional Filipino family that prized academic excellence and strong family ties. He earned his bachelor's degree in psychology from UCLA and subsequently earned his master's and doctorate from the California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP), San Francisco campus after gaining valuable life experience in the corporate workforce. Dr. Benigno's work, as well as the rest of his life, is thoroughly guided by his ultimate purpose, which is knowing, loving, and serving God. As such, he strives to perfect his craft in psychological assessment and consultation, and provide service that always recognizes the dignity of each client that seeks his help. Clinically, Dr. Benigno is particularly adept and passionate about helping students identify factors (e.g., learning disorder, ADHD, auditory processing disorder, affective disorder), which may be compromising academic success. He honed these skills at school settings such as Impact Academy (Hayward, CA) and Making Waves Academy (Richmond, CA), as well as clinical settings such as the Argosy Assessment and Intervention Clinic (Alameda, CA), Psychological Services Center (Oakland, CA), andFrugé Psychological Associates (Oakland, CA). He has written and presented research exploring how cultural factors affect academic success. He worked collaboratively with parents, students, and teachers to develop grounded strategies in the classroom and at home. His extensive work experience includes notable clinics such as the San Francisco VA Medical Center, Stanford University School of Medicine, and Neuropsychological Associates, where he focused on neuropsychological assessment to evaluate cognitive capacity and provide differential diagnoses to treatment teams. He used neuropsychological assessment to help administrators at SNFs determine whether or not patients have the capacity to make decisions for their care. Additionally, Dr. Benigno worked with clients who seek psychological assessment for immigration cases. He is familiar with the key questions that are crucial to said evaluations and offer only reports that comprehensively and objectively assess the psychological impact to a client and his/her family.
