AFADJATO HOSPITAL

The Afadjato Hospital was first established in 2011 as an eye clinic by Dr. Peter Atadja, a research scientist in oncology, and Dr. Alfred Osafo Kwaako, an ophthalmologist, in thier "hometown village" of Ve Kolenu, a few miles from it's larger municipal town of Hohoe, Ghana. The clinic was in memory of thier late parents, Dr. Rose Mompi and Dr. Paul Atadja, who served as the "Chief" of the town of Ve Kolenu from 1964 until 1972, and was the Superintendent of the local health clinic. They were known to be rather selfless givers to the community at large, and served in more ways than their official titles. The clinic has grown rapidly partly due to the legacy they left for their sons and the many "adopted children" to build upon. That legacy has proven to be strong... Although we are a specialty hospital, many patients present with need for primary care and preventive services which they expect to have managed.
