Adnan Syed Muhammad - Founder

Adnan has over 25 years of experience in research and business development, strategic management, operations management and project management in industry and universities. Adnan has worked for five Australian universities in senior management roles supporting business development and research management. He has worked as the Chief Operating Officer managing a multi-university vision science research Centre at one of the world's leading universities, the Australian National University. Adnan has also worked as the Chief Operating Officer for another world-leading university, the University of New South Wales managing a government and industry funded research Centre in international finance and regulation. He has worked as a Business Development Manager at La Trobe University supporting its key research focus areas in Arts, Social Sciences and Commerce, helping individual researchers and centres to develop research strategies and industry engagement activities for establishing and maintaining external partnerships and securing research funding. Adnan has taught strategic management in the La Trobe MBA program. Prior to joining the university sector, Adnan worked as regional manager, South East Asia for a multinational company ABB at its Singapore office. He has also worked at Siemens, Pakistan handling multimillion-dollar power generation projects. Adnan has a PhD in management from the University of Western Sydney, Australia, MBA from the University of Southern Queensland, Australia, MEng in electrical engineering from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, MEngSc in biomedical engineering from the University of New South Wales, Australia, and a BE in electrical engineering from NED University, Pakistan.

Silvia McCormack

Silvia has been involved in the field of teaching and learning and research in the Scholarship of Learning and Teaching for over 30 years. She is currently employed at La Trobe University in Melbourne Australia. Her role involves working across the University to develop, promote, implement and evaluate strategies to foster high-quality and innovative approaches to curriculum development, learning and teaching. Previous work roles involved teaching languages in secondary schools, and developing and delivering professional development sessions for teachers and academics in teaching methodology for the New South Wales Department of Education and at Deakin and La Trobe universities. As Project Director for the Australian Council for Education Research (ACER) in Melbourne, she lead a Commonwealth funded literacy and numeracy national schools assessment program. She managed the Monash University Foundation Year, a year 12 program for international students who seek entry into Monash University. This role involved managing and overseeing the quality of the curriculum of 16 subjects, quality assurance audits at six overseas provider locations and the examination system. Recently Silvia was invited by Sunway University in Malaysia and East China Normal University in Shanghai China to deliver professional learning sessions on student centred teaching, Peer Observation and Review of Teaching, curriculum design and Classroom Action Research for their teaching staff. The sessions were highly evaluated by staff involved. Silvia has an EdD from La Trobe University (Melbourne), an MA from Deakin University (Melbourne), Graduate Diploma in Education and a BA from the University of Western Australia
