Douglass R. Elliott

A Tulsa native, Doug Elliott graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1985 with a B.B.A. in Finance, and subsequently from the University of Tulsa College of Law in December 1992, with honors. He was admitted to the Oklahoma Bar Association in April of 1993 and began his law practice in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Mr. Elliott has, throughout his legal career practiced in many areas of civil litigation, representing both defendants and individual plaintiffs. Specific areas of practice include but are not limited to products liability, insurance contractual breach and bad faith, professional negligence, real estate law including contractual and transactional, vehicular negligence including catastrophic injury and wrongful death, premises liability, family law, dram shop actions, construction law, and business disputes. Mr. Elliott is admitted to all state courts in Oklahoma and the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Eastern, and Western Districts of Oklahoma. He has litigated cases throughout the discovery process and has tried cases to successful jury verdicts. Additionally, Mr. Elliot has effectively resolved hundreds of cases through alternative dispute resolution, seeking an efficient and favorable outcome for all clients.

Jeff D. Scott

Jeff D. Scott is a native Texan, growing up in College Station. He attended the University of Oklahoma where he was a President's Community Scholar and graduated in 2015 with a Bachelor's of Arts in Political Science. In 2018, he earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Tulsa College of Law. Mr. Scott's practice focuses primarily on civil litigation, estate planning and corporate transactional. He has a special passion for Renewable Energy Law. He is admitted to practice before all Oklahoma State Courts. When Mr. Scott is not in the courtroom, he volunteers his time serving as Phi Kappa Psi's National Deputy Attorney General and as the Fraternity's Oklahoma Alumni Association President. He also enjoys spending time at Tulsa's historic Cain's Ballroom and working on his family's ranch.

John A. L. Campbell

John Campbell is a 1990 graduate of Oklahoma State University. After graduating from Oklahoma State, he served in the United States Marine Corps as an artillery officer from 1990-1994. Mr. Campbell attended the University of Tulsa College of Law from 1994-1997. Mr. Campbell was admitted into the Oklahoma bar in 1997 and began practicing law in Tulsa, Oklahoma. In 2005, Mr. Campbell was commissioned as a Captain in the United States Army Judge Advocate General's (JAG) Corps. In 2007, Mr. Campbell was mobilized and deployed to Iraq where he served as Defense Counsel for Soldiers deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. Captain Campbell had the opportunity to represent hundreds of Soldiers facing courts martial charges, administrative proceedings, and non-judicial punishment. Captain Campbell earned a Bronze Star for his service in Iraq and was demobilized in 2008. He continued to serve as a JAG Officer in the US Army Reserves until he retired in June 2020. Throughout his career, Mr. Campbell's practice has focused primarily on litigation - both civil and criminal. Mr. Campbell's civil litigation experience includes representing individuals, businesses, and insurance companies. He has handled all manner of civil litigation including insurance bad faith, automobile liability, property liability, professional liability, fraud, breach of contract, unfair business practices, employment torts, and family law. Mr. Campbell has defended the accused in criminal cases in state, federal, and military courts. Mr. Campbell is admitted to practice before all state and federal district and appellate courts in Oklahoma. Over the years, Mr. Campbell has been involved in the trial of numerous cases to jury verdict. He has also efficiently and effectively resolved hundreds of cases for his clients by obtaining dismissals or summary judgments thereby extricating his clients from the litigation. Mr. Campbell has been married for 25 years and has four children.

Lauren Armstrong

Lauren Armstrong was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma. In 2014, she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Oklahoma State University. In 2017, Ms. Armstrong received her law degree with highest honors from The University of Tulsa College of Law, where she was a member of Phi Delta Phi Honor Society, Phi Alpha Delta, and received a CALI Award in Arbitration. After law school, Ms. Armstrong worked as an Assistant Public Defender in Tulsa County for three years, where she represented children in custody and adoption cases. Currently, her practice focuses primarily on civil litigation and family law matters involving children. In her free time, Ms. Armstrong enjoys spending time with friends, family, and her rescue dog, Theo.

Rachel C. Mathis

In 1992, Rachel C. Mathis received her B.S. degree from Oklahoma State University and in 1995 she received her law degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Law. Before becoming a founding member of Aston|Mathis|Campbell, PLLC, Ms. Mathis was a shareholder in one of the largest firms in Oklahoma. Prior to that, she was a partner with mid-size local defense firm for nine years. She has a broad litigation practice and has handled thousands of cases over the course of her career. Ms. Mathis is a proven trial lawyer, taking numerous cases to jury verdict in several counties throughout the State of Oklahoma and in federal court. She has also presented oral arguments to the 10 th Circuit Court of Appeals. Her clients range in size from small local businesses and individuals to nationwide companies. In addition to her litigation practice, Ms. Mathis assists companies, lawyers and professionals on matters such as contract negotiations, insurance coverage, and personnel matters. She is a trained mediator and has also had several published decisions relating to matters including insurance bad faith, products liability, premises liability, and employment discrimination. Ms. Mathis is married and has two sons who both graduated from Bishop Kelley High School. The oldest is a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and serving as an officer in the U.S. Army. The youngest attends Oklahoma State University.

Robert Applegate

A native Tulsan, Robert Applegate graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1994 majoring in Finance with emphasis in Business Legal Studies. He graduated from the Oklahoma City University School of Law in December 1997. He was admitted to the Oklahoma Bar in April 1998. Mr. Applegate's practice has centered around insurance defense, including insurance bad faith, commercial transportation, products liability, medical malpractice, employment, governmental/municipal liability and workers' compensation. Mr. Applegate's insurance-related matters, include, but are not limited to, coverage analysis, declaratory judgment actions, subrogation matters and most facets of claim resolution. Mr. Applegate also has extensive appellate experience. Mr. Applegate is licensed to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States, Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals and all state and federal courts in Oklahoma. He is a current member of the Oklahoma Bar Association and Tulsa County Bar Association. Mr. Applegate is a Martindale Hubbell AV rated attorney. Mr. Applegate is married and the father of two. In his spare time, he enjoys attending high school and college soccer games and running. He and his family are members of the Church of St. Mary.

Roger Gassett

Roger Gassett was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 2005 with a Bachelor's of Business Administration in Management. In 2009, he received his J.D. from the University of Tulsa College of Law. Mr. Gassett's practice is primarily general litigation and appellate matters, with a focus on construction law and commercial disputes. Throughout his career, Mr. Gassett has worked on all types of litigation matters, ranging from small claims cases to complex commercial litigation. He has been recognized as an Oklahoma Rising Star in the field of General Litigation by Oklahoma Super Lawyers Magazine. Mr. Gassett is admitted to practice before all Oklahoma State and Appellate Courts, Federal Courts of the Northern and Western Districts of Oklahoma, Cherokee Tribal Court, and the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals. When he is not practicing law, Mr Gassett enjoys spending time with his wife Cristen, and two young sons, Clete and Cooper.

Stephan S. Mathis

Stephan S. Mathis graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1990 with a BSBA in Accounting and the Tulsa University College of Law, with highest honor, in 2001. In addition to being a licensed attorney, Mr. Mathis is a Certified Public Accountant who began his accounting career with Baird, Kurtz & Dobson (now BKD) in its Tulsa office. In 1992, Mr. Mathis accepted a position with Coopers & Lybrand (now PricewaterhouseCoopers) where he worked for 9 years as an auditor of large corporations and financial institutions. Because of his business and accounting background, Mr. Mathis has focused his legal practice in the areas of estate planning, construction litigation, insurance law, tribal law, business and commercial litigation and commercial transactions. His practice also extends to the areas of probate and taxpayer advocacy in federal and state tax controversies. Mr. Mathis has served as an Administrative Law Judge for the Oklahoma Insurance Department since 2012 and has litigated matters in both state and federal courts throughout Oklahoma. Mr. Mathis is married and has two boys. He and his family attend church at the Sapulpa First United Methodist Church.
