We strive to provide a design process where the eventual owner can form an emotional attachment to their piece of furniture. This is made possible by involving the client throughout the process, from the drawing board to visits to the workshop with larger commissions... We established avastidesign in 2005 with the goal of creating beautiful timber furniture without making a negative environmental impact. I am committed to promoting the use of salvaged and recycled timber in place of virgin timber, and have spent a considerable amount of time establishing a network of contacts that I draw upon to source exquisite, sustainably sourced timbers. This network has enabled us to access a great number of species in quantities ranging from several cubic metres to small off-cuts, and originating from sources such as diseased and wind-fallen trees and building demolition/ renovation.
