The Bombay Cricket Club was established in 1929 and is the main cricket club for cricketers in Greater Mumbai, Mumbai, and the Thane districts. This club has a rich cricket history thanks to the pentagular and quadrangular tournaments that used to be played in the city. These tournaments allowed the locals to watch some of the best players in the country, which gave them the passion to try and become professional cricketers themselves. This meant that the club was never short of talent walking through their doors... Bombay is considered to be the home of Indian cricket, having given the country 70 test cricketers. For instance, the great Sachin Tendulkar learnt his cricket at this club. Other noticeable players include Rohit Sharma, Ajit Agarkar, Ajit Wadekar, Dilip Vengsarkar, and Ravi Shastri.
