John W. "Jack" Kearney

John W. "Jack" Kearney is a CPA and a retired partner of the CPA firm of RSMUS, LLP (formerly McGladrey). He was with the firm for 40 years. Mr. Kearney joined the SENB Bank Board of Directors in 2010 and currently serves as Chairman. Before and after retirement, Jack has served on numerous non-profit boards and is a 40-year member of the Moline Kiwanis service club. Mr. Kearney also served in the U.S. Army from 1969-1971.

Mara Sovey Downing - President

Mara Downing serves as Vice President, Corporate Communications & Brand Management in addition to her role as President, John Deere Foundation. She joined SENB Bank Board of Directors January 1, 2020 Ms. Downing holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from St. Ambrose University and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. Ms. Downing is a tireless community volunteer and serves on a number of community boards including the John Deere Classic, the United Way of the Quad Cities, Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce, the Regional Opportunities Council (ROC), and the Lincoln Academy. She also serves on a number of campaign committees including the Quad Cities Culture Trust and co-chair of the United Way of the Quad Cities Community Campaign.

Education Western Illinois University-BA Graduate of Black Hawk College Graduate of the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin at Madison Experience Matt has been with SENB Bank since 1999 and has been assisting commercial banking customers since 2006. In addition to his experience in the commercial area, he has also worked in consumer lending and as a banking center manager. At the end of 2021, Matt became the chief credit officer for SENB Bank. Expertise Matt enjoys getting to know his customers' businesses and helping them reach their goals. He provides support and advice on borrowing, deposit, and cash management tools. Matt's advice for new customers is: "Lenders are always prepared with questions for new customers; however, new customers should also have ‘interview' questions for their lender beyond the loan terms such as: Who at the bank will be part of my support team? (Think loans, deposits, treasury management and wealth management) Do you have experience assisting businesses in my industry? What other products/services would you suggest that would assist my company beyond the loan?" Matt is the Vice Chair of Trinity College of Nursing and Health Sciences Board of Trustees. He also serves as the bank's representative and as Treasurer on the board of Bridge Investment Community Development Corporation. Matt resides outside of Milan with his wife and two children and enjoys golf, swimming, and spending time with family and friends.
