Brian Burnett, Ph.D., MBA, and CPA (inactive), has nearly 20 years of accounting and finance experience. Prior to earning his Ph.D. in Accounting, Dr. Burnett worked for Arthur Andersen and KPMG where he audited some of the largest companies in Orange County, California. There, he developed in-depth knowledge and expertise in financial accounting and capital markets. He continued to deepen this knowledge during his doctoral studies at the University of Colorado at Boulder. He focused on examining the role of accounting in valuation with a particular emphasis on small firms trading in less regulated markets. His work is well-respected. It has been presented at leading business schools and national conferences across the country, and published in prominent academic accounting journals.
Currently, as an Assistant Professor of Accounting at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, is passionate about passing on his knowledge of accounting and valuation to his students. Dr. Burnett is an expert at teaching accounting for mergers and acquisitions, which he has taught for more than a decade.
He and his wife, Beca, are enjoying raising their two children in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Josh Burnett - Chief Strategy Officer
Josh helps develop, communicate, execute, and sustain Burnett Business Advisors' strategic initiatives. Analyzing markets, finding potential targets and partnership opportunities are his key roles with BBA.
Josh excels at connecting with others, building relationships with clients, and helping to meet their needs. Josh has spent his professional career helping clients develop and achieve their goals with a particular focus on analyzing and acting on growth opportunities.
He and his wife, Lindsey, are proud parents of two children and live in Roseville, CA.
Rochelle Pettit is a multi-talented superstar with decades of experience in client care and management, and communication. Her greatest strength is her passion for customer service. She is an excellent communicator who strives to understand clients' needs and find ways to fulfill them.
She excels in multimedia production, developing sales collateral, managing electronic communications, and event planning. She is a marketing professional, adept at creating and sustaining long-term relationships and creating strategies to build key relationships.
As a results-driven professional, she has used her analytical skills in the CRM experience and her creativity in web and video production to grow a nationally recognized, top 100 financial firm. She also runs her own photography and video production company.
Her accolades include: Best Video Marketing Award by Northstate BIA MAME Awards in 2014 (Sacramento region), video selection for AllRecipes.com 2013 Firehouse Cooks (national), 3rd place video of Benihana Chef of the Year 2015 (national), and 3rd place video for Streaming Media in 2010 (national).

Steve Burnett is a 40-year veteran of consulting business owners in multiple industries. He is a nationally recognized certified public accountant, providing expert counsel to clients in business accounting, organization, development, and tax strategies in the Western United States.
Over a three-decade period, Steve built a highly successful accounting firm, Burnett and Company LLP, which ranked in the top ten CPA firms in the Greater Sacramento area, and later was a partner and member of the executive committee in a firm which ranked nationally in the Top 100.
Steve has relied on his deep knowledge of accounting and taxation to develop and grow closely held businesses. He has worked extensively with contractors, real estate developers, suppliers, and manufacturers for many years.
Steve's greatest strength is advising his clients in strategies to increase profitability. He has excelled as a trusted advisor in estate planning and exit strategies.
Since 2000, he has served as treasurer, president, and board member for various business associations in the Sacramento region, including NAIOP, Lambda Alpha International, and SRBX, among others. He is a licensed general contractor and real estate and insurance agent and carries the esteemed certifications CCIFP and CGMA. He is a member of AICPA, CFMA, and the California Society of CPA's.
He has been married to his wife for 45 years, and is the proud father of four children, who have given him five grandchildren.
