Registered with the Charity Commission in the UK, the Capacity Foundation is intended to have a limited life span: once the programme in Malawi is self-funding and self-sustaining, the UK arm will no longer be necessary. This objective is fundamental to achieving independence from overseas aid... Created in 2017, the Capacity Foundation works in one of the poorest parts of Malawi, helping local people to build their own businesses and to reduce their dependence on international aid... The Capacity Academy provides eight adult literacy and numeracy classes from which hundreds of people have graduated, with a further 200 currently studying.
