AMBER UPDYKE - Amber has been with the firm for 4 years and works in the real estate department. She coordinates all aspects of purchases, sales, and refinances, including preparing purchase contracts, keeping strict tabs on deadlines of the contract, ordering appraisals and inspections, preparing closing documents, arranging closing dates, tax prorates, payoffs, and post closing. Amber goes above and beyond and maintains good communication with the real estate agents, clients, and other attorneys offices.

ANNE FITZSIMMONS - Anne has been with the firm since 1987 and works in the real estate department. Christopher J. Ferratella

Christopher Ferratella is a partner of the law firm Yorio, Ferratella & Bowes. He was born and raised in Painted Post, New York. He earned his BA from Mercyhurst College in Erie, Pennsylvania in 2002 and his JD from the State University of New York at Buffalo Law School in 2005. Mr. Ferratella currently resides in Big Flats, New York with his wife and three children. Since 2006 Mr. Ferratella has worked part time as an Assistant Public Defender in Chemung County. At Yorio, Ferratella, & Bowes he practices primarily in the areas of criminal defense, real estate transactions, matrimonial law, landlord and tenant law, and all matters in family court, including custody and visitation, child support, adoption, paternity, representing both petitioners and respondents in family offenses, and appeals of indicated findings of child maltreatment. He is on the Attorneys for Children panel in Steuben County representing children who are involved in family court through custody proceedings, family offenses, abuse or neglect of the child, and defense of children in juvenile delinquent and P.I.N.S. proceedings.

MARY KAY WRUBEL

MARY KAY WRUBEL - Mary Kay has been working with the firm since 2020 as the accounts manager and assisting with the accounting matters of the firm. Additionally, she has recently begun assisting with the necessary document preparation, working with families to ensure their needs are met and communicating with the courts. Mary Kay is a wife and mother of five children. She is currently enrolled in college with the goal to become a certified Paralegal.

Ronald A. Yorio

Ronald A. Yorio is a founding partner and is the current managing partner in the firm. He is a graduate of Fordham University and Syracuse University College of Law. Admitted to the bar in New York in 1970, U.S. District Court for the Western District of New York in 1972, he has been an Assistant Steuben County District Attorney. Mr. Yorio also serves as a counsel to the Town of Corning and Woodhull, villages of Painted Post and South Corning and the Southern Tier Regional Planning & Development Board. He has served in many capacities for the Corning Country Club, Corning YMCA and Steuben County Boy Scouts, and is a past President of the Steuben County Bar Association and Painted Post area board of trade.

SARA PALTROWITZ - Sara

SARA PALTROWITZ - Sara has been working with the firm since 2019 in family law, contracts, and and assisting attorneys with all aspects of preparing documents, filings with courts, and managing deadlines. Sara goes above and beyond and maintains good communication with the real estate agents, clients, and other attorneys offices. Thomas M. Bowes

Tom was born in Elmira, NY on September 29, 1980 at the Arnot Ogden Memorial Hospital. As a lifelong resident of the Southern Tier, he has come to know many of the good people who have also chosen to make this area their home. Upon graduation from Elmira Free Academy, Tom chose to earn his Associate's Degree from Corning Community College the following year, and then attended the State University of New York at Buffalo for two years, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science with a concentration in Pre-Law. The following fall, he enrolled at Hofstra University School of Law for his first year of law school. After his first year in Long Island, Tom heard the calling of upstate New York, and decided to transfer back to the State University at Buffalo School of Law. Upon graduation in 2004 from law school, he came home to his roots in Elmira, NY and began working at the Chemung County District Attorney's Office as an Assistant District Attorney. At the D.A.'s Office, Tom handled thousand of cases in Chemung County Court, Elmira City Court, and various town and village courts. After three years of prosecuting felony and misdemeanor cases throughout Chemung County, he left the D.A.'s Office to join the practice at the Law Office of Thomas W. Reed II, PLLC in Corning, NY. In 2011, Tom joined the Steuben County District Attorney's office as a part-time prosecutor, handling criminal cases throughout Steuben County, but assigned mostly to the western and northern areas. In 2013, Tom left the Steuben D.A.'s office and joined the Public Defender's office as a part-time assistant public defender, handling criminal defense matters for indigent clients in the local courts in the eastern areas of the county. Throughout his career and relying on the invaluable experience gained in his former capacities, Tom has vastly expanded the areas of his practice to include collections, civil litigation, real estate transactions, family law, and divorce law, among others. In 2012, he became a partner at Yorio, Ferratella & Bowes. As a partner at Yorio, Ferratella & Bowes, he handles legal matters including Real Estate, Criminal Defense, DWI, Wills & Estates, Personal Injury, Municipal, Family, Divorce, and Contract Litigation.
