Prior to joining Coastwise in 2023, Ashlin graduated from the University of Idaho with a BS in Public Relations and Political Science. She then interned for 1-Stop Media, an internet marketing service, specializing in building marketing materials for small businesses. With years of customer focused experience, she utilizes her skillset to contribute to Coastwise operational excellence and growth.

Brad Saenz

Brad serves as Chief Operations Officer and Financial Advisor at Coastwise. He brings deep experience in the financial markets including in equities, fixed income, mutual funds, and alternative investments. Brad previously worked at CoastEdge Partners, LLC, serving high net worth clients in a multitude of investment strategies. He also worked at Allianz Global Investors, a $500 billion global investment company, analyzing mutual fund performance and supporting the international trade desk in institutional fund services. Brad holds the Series 65 license.

Jordan Lawson

Jordan's background in finance began with a BS in Accounting from Carson-Newman University, followed by several years of military service where he specialized in logistics for the US Air Force. Jordan holds a master's degree in National Security with a concentration in Counterterrorism from National University. Jordan lives in La Jolla, CA, and continues to pursue athletics as well as philanthropic endeavors.

Laurie Itkin

Laurie has served as Financial Advisor at Coastwise since 2012. She holds the Series 65 license and is also certified as a divorce financial analyst (CDFA). Laurie is the author of the Amazon best-seller, Every Woman Should Know Her Options: Invest Your Way to Financial Empowerment. In 2017 and 2018, Investopedia named Laurie one of the 100 most influential advisors in the country. She has appeared numerous times as a guest contributor on San Diego television broadcast news programs. In her spare time, Laurie enjoys playing competitive squash and volunteering at the San Diego Financial Literacy Center. Laurie began her financial career in 1989 when she worked as an options trading assistant for O'Connor & Associates, a former market-maker on the Chicago Board Options Exchange. Laurie holds a B.S. in economics with a concentration in finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and serves on the Coastwise Investment Committee.

Patrick Fischer

Patrick has been investing in public companies for nearly 20 years and brings a diverse background of experience in portfolio management, trading, research, and client service. Patrick began his career with Scott at G2 Capital Management (the predecessor to Coastwise Capital Group) in La Jolla in 2002 as an equity research associate. From 2004 to 2008, Patrick co-managed a systematic global macro hedge fund at Mellon Capital Management in San Francisco. After graduating from business school, he spent the following decade overseas in Singapore and London in commodities trading and business development roles at Nomura, Citi, and Trafigura. Patrick holds the Series 65 license and is a member of the Coastwise Investment Committee. Patrick is the co-author of The Compound Code: An Expert Guide to Trading Stocks and Options released in 2023. The Compound Code is a straightforward and accessible guide for smart investing. Patrick is also featured in various articles including MoneyGeek and BabyBoomers.com. Patrick earned a BA in mathematics and a BS in computer science engineering from UC San Diego as well as an MBA with a concentration in finance from UC Berkeley. While in business school, he spent a semester abroad at IESE business school in Barcelona, Spain. Patrick competed on the varsity swim and triathlon teams for UC San Diego and continues to swim, surf, and compete in triathlons.

Scott G. Kyle

Scott serves as CEO/Chief Investment Officer at Coastwise where he is responsible for strategic investment decisions, portfolio management, and client relations. He chairs the Coastwise Investment Committee. Investing in public and private companies for over 30 years, Scott offers a solid combination of Wall Street analysis, public market, private equity, and hedge fund experience, invaluable when it comes to sophisticated and effective money management. During that time, he has executed billions of dollars in securities trades/investments. Scott has been using options strategies to hedge equity positions and generate income since the early 1990s, while developing proprietary trading models and techniques. He is an 13-time winner of the Five Star Wealth Manager award. Scott co-founded The Active Network, Inc. which was one of the original unicorns when it went public at a market capitalization in excess of $1 billion. Scott served as CFO and on the Board of Directors for Active from its founding in 1998 until 2002. Scott started his finance career on Wall Street as a Financial Analyst at Chemical Bank (now JPMorgan/Chase) where he conducted analysis and due diligence on Fortune 1000 Companies. Scott is the author of The Compound Code: An Expert Guide to Trading Stocks & Options released in 2023. The Compound Code is a must read for investors of all levels. His first novel Forever Young came out in 2014. Scott co-authored the novel, Via LaVie and the Friendship Code with his daughter Liv, released in February, 2022 along with its sequel Via LaVie and the Secret Key. Additionally Scott authored The Power Curve: Smart Investing Using Dividends, Options, and the Magic of Compounding which was nominated for a San Diego Book award. Scott founded the Coastwise Spelling Prize an annual spelling bee held in La Jolla, CA, as well as the Coastwise Prize for Investing Excellence, a scholarship program that emphasizes financial literacy for High Schoolers. Scott holds Bachelors' degrees in Economics and International Relations from Tufts University (magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa), a General Course Degree in International Relations from the London School of Economics, and an MBA from Harvard University. He is a two-time world and nine-time national champion in sailing, an Academic All-American (Tufts sailing), an Ironman triathlon finisher, and a 3rd degree black belt in Shaolin Kempo. Scott lives with his family in La Jolla, California and has served as a Board Director on over fifteen companies and non-profit organizations.
