Brett Gilbert - President

Brett Gilbert is the President of Competitive Edge Engineering, a project manager and senior civil engineer. He has over 30 years experience in engineering, property assessment and agency approval, and is a registered professional engineer innumerous states. He is also a U.S. Green Building Council LEED Accredited Professional. Brett brings a competitive edge to his clients through a combination of private and public sector career successes. He served in positions of trust working with high level government officials at the federal, state and local levels. He has been professionally trained in media relations and consensus building, and has been an official spokesperson, understanding the value of effective communications. As an executive with architectural and engineering firms, he has been an effective leader and delivered increased profit margins within existing business units and developed new markets from the ground up, creating a high level of growth for numerous companies. He is an active participant in industry and community organizations, having served six years as a director and as past president for the Central Ohio Section of the American Society of Highway Engineers. He is also actively involved with the Urban Land Institute, NAIOP the Commercial Real Estate Development Association, and the International Council of Shopping Centers. Brett has also served on the Board of Trustees for a men's homeless shelter and previously as Vice President of his neighborhood association. Brett is an avid traveler who likes to explore new places and experiences. He enjoys being outside as much as possible including running, biking, hiking, skiing and playing golf. Brett's non-profit support includes the SAME Cafe in Denver and The Open Shelter in Columbus.
