MORPETH MENTAL HEALTH GROUP LDT

Contact was founded in 1986 by local resident Gena Fleming as a support group meeting in her own home. Gena had suffered a family bereavement and decided to set up a self-support group called Morpeth Schizophrenia Fellowship. Contact has had several changes of premises over the years and in 2011 we were fortunate to find ideal premises at Grey's Yard... Contact is an independent local charity based in Morpeth, however our reach covers the whole of south-east Northumberland, particularly Ashington, Bedlington, Cramlington, and Blyth. We support people with mental health conditions and /or their carers. People come to us mainly on referral from GPs and Community Mental Health Teams, although we do accept some self-referrals... To offer friendship, develop support and reduce social isolation of those of us living with mental ill-health and their carers. We offer counselling and engaging mental health activities
