Alex Taylor

Alex brings more than a decade of experience in engineering, commissioning, biotech, pharmaceutical, medical device facilities and laboratory equipment. He is well versed in large scale decontamination, equipment, facility and process validation, high containment laboratory design and related standards and guidelines. His strengths include resource and service management, along with development and improvement of internal processes to deliver a consistently high-quality product. Clients appreciate Alex's positive can-do attitude and his excellent project management and communication skills.

Andrew Burch

Job Titles:
  • Commissioning Engineer
Andrew joined Cornerstone in 2019 and came to the firm with a passion for hands-on commissioning and strong interpersonal skills. He performs on-site testing, documentation, and planning on some of Cornerstone's more challenging projects. He attended the University of New Hampshire, Durham, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. He is currently pursuing his license as a professional engineer.

Bernie Keister

Bernie joined Cornerstone in the spring of 2023 with a passion for making buildings run right. After graduating from Cleveland State University with a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering, he has worked in the building industry as a controls contractor, programmer, and installer. Recently, he has brought his expertise to bear as a Controls Engineer for consulting firms, as well as working as a Commissioning Engineer. Now with Cornerstone, Bernie is looking forward to building the next generation of labs and healthcare facilities with excellence and enthusiasm.

Briana Mendez

Dan Cook

Job Titles:
  • Director of Critical Projects
Dan's strong system analysis capabilities and unique talent for executing the testing protocols of mechanical, electrical, plumbing and especially building control systems enable him to clearly understand and resolve any possible issues. He is frequently praised for his innate ability to coordinate work with contractors and document test results that proactively and efficiently brings commissioning issues to resolution.

Dan Frasier - VP

Dan has over 30 years of installation, maintenance, design and commissioning experience, with a specialization in facility performance of critical environments. He speaks throughout the industry on laboratory commissioning for national and international organizations and has served on industry standards committees for airflow and contamination control. Dan's engineering background provides him with the technical expertise needed to lead Cornerstone while his dedication to commissioning galvanizes his leadership into a solidly cohesive corporate culture. As founder of Cornerstone, Dan directs business development and oversees execution of the commissioning process.

David Cravens

David joined Cornerstone in the Spring of 2021 with a motivation and drive to constantly improve operations. David graduated from Liberty University with a Bachelor's degree in Business Project Management. He ensures the operational performance of the company is efficient and effective. He also brings people together with excellent communication and soft skills that enables Cornerstone to thrive as one cohesive team.

Dawson Frasier

Dawson has four years of MEP commissioning experience, having started his career as an intern at Cornerstone and then moving into a Commissioning Specialist position where he's become an integral part of the team. Dawson uses his strong investigative and communication skills to help ensure building owners' needs are being met by scrutinizing system data and performance through building controls to deliver optimal sequences of operation. He also excels at collaborating with project teams to overcome challenges, ultimately helping everyone more easily deliver high-functioning facilities.

Jay Moore

Jay is a well-rounded building commissioning professional, and energy manager. Jay specializes in a variety of air & water side MEP system operation as well as specialty systems for high-profile, critical, and highly secure project sites. His experience includes commissioning of MEP, renewable energy, and specialty systems for office buildings, mission critical facilities, data centers, healthcare facilities, higher education institutions, K-12 buildings, military facilities, corrections centers, and cGMP facilities and laboratories. Jay is known by his clients for his technical expertise, strong project management skills, problem solving skills, effective communication and a zeal for results.

Lois had no idea that marrying Dan would one day place her in the position of President of an engineering firm. Throughout two decades she has been called to a variety of tasks helping ensure things run smoothly and efficiently within the company. She greatly enjoys working alongside Dan and the whole Cornerstone team.

Ryan Zei

Ryan's background spans 20 years as a building operator of multiple building types. After obtaining his engineering degree mid-career, Ryan transitioned to third party commissioning. He is inspired by the opportunity to advocate for owners & clients by working with all project stakeholders. From the design team, to the builders, to operations staff, Ryan draws on his experience and education to help deliver and then maintain consistently functional facility systems through the commissioning process.

Stanley Thomas

Stanley Thomas serves as a Senior Commissioning Engineer with Cornerstone Commissioning. Since graduating with his Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Commonwealth University, Stanley has been involved in the MEP design, commissioning, and construction for 15+ years. Stanley's project experience includes Universities, Healthcare Facilities, Research Laboratories, Retail, Data Centers, Corporate, Industrial, Hospitality and Financial Institutions.

Tim Shukri

Tim brings an exceptional level of leadership, interpersonal skills and hands-on ability to Cornerstone. He is regularly recognized for his problem-solving abilities and highly focused attention to detail when performing systems installations and performance testing. Tim fosters a collaborative approach in the field working proactively with project team members ranging from owners to the installation contractors. He holds both Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Mechanical Engineering.

Tom Sivert

Tom joined the company after spending 18 years working as a chief engineer in the offshore shipping industry. He has been a hands-on contributor involved with the new build commissioning process of 3 new vessels for his prior company. Working with the owners of the shipping company to assure the quality of work and on-time delivery has shown him the importance of the commissioning process. A cohesive team of designers, builders, commissioning engineers and ultimately the owner/operator all working together to deliver high quality systems is and has been Tom's primary goal. Tom has a Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering from Massachusetts Maritime Academy.

Zachary Weidenhof
