David Bearman

Since 2001 Dr. Bearman has been in private practice with an emphasis on pain management and cannabinoid medicine, while holding various elected and appointed public service roles along the way. Dr. Bearman is a co-founder and the Executive Vice President and board Member the American Academy of Cannabinoid Medicine (AACM) and is an Advisory Board Member for Patients Out of Time. In addition to his roles as a public healthcare professional, Dr. Bearman serves as Director for the Goleta West Sanitary District in California. Professionally, Dr. Bearman is a former member of the Board of Directors of; Professionally, Dr. Bearman has served in a government relations (former) role for; Dr. Bearman has served as an expert witness in over 500 civil, criminal and family law cases. Many have involved quality of care, drug abuse treatment and pharmacology of psychoactive drugs and the physiologic effects of these drugs. Provided testimony to the Iowa board of Pharmacy and Wisconsin State Senate Health Committee, as well as the Joint meeting of Maryland House of Delegates Judiciary Committee, and the Member State of Ohio Condition Committee testifying for the Ohio State marijuana law committee. Dr. Bearman has provided advice to Utah lawmakers on medical cannabis, and has contributed to pioneering the development of (Endo)Cannabinology as a specialty.

Dr Scott Jacobson

Dr Scott Jacobson graduated from UNLV school of medicine Family Medicine program in 2010. He spent 2 years working for a medium sized primary care practice in Las Vegas before joining Iora Health. He worked for Iora, a startup out of Boston, for 5 years, splitting his time working with severely chronically ill members of the Culinary union, then as Medical Director of Turntable Health. In March of 2017, Dr. Jacobson founded Wishing Wellness Medical, a Functional Medicine and Direct Primary Clinic. He and his wife, Ren, a certified functional Medicine health coach, work together to manage chronic disease.

Evan DeZeeuw

Dr. DeZeeuw is an educator and practicing pharmacist. He obtained his Doctorate of Pharmacy from The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy. He has experience as a Clinical and Compounding Pharmacist in Infusion Therapy and as a Pharmacist in Medication Therapy Management. Dr. DeZeeuw founded Endocannacopia Education L.3.C., which provides cannabis & health education, resources and services to improve community well-being through education. Dr. DeZeeuw was a founding member of the Oregon Cannabis Clinicians Group, which put Dr. DeZeeuw on the radar of Compassion Center, Oregon's oldest 501(c)(3) medical cannabis clinic. Dr. DeZeeuw has been studying and researching cannabis for 10 years, with a focus on patient safety and education. Dr. DeZeeuw currently serves on the Health Equity and Patient Equity Subcommittees of the Oregon Health Authority and Oregon Cannabis Commission, respectively. Dr. DeZeeuw is a founding charter member of the board of directors for the Integrative Providers Association and its companion PACs and serves as Director of Patient Safety for Compassion Center.

John Silver

Dr. Silver received his Associate degree in nursing in 1984 from Palm Beach Community College, his BSN from Florida Atlantic University (FAU) in 1998 and his Master's Degree from FAU in 2000. He earned the Public Intellectual Ph.D. in Comparative Studies from FAU in 2010. Dr. Silver started in healthcare in 1974, and became a Respiratory Therapist in 1978. After receiving his ADN nursing degree in 1984, he worked extensively in critical care, including medical and surgical ICU's, trauma units, burn units, and neurological ICU's. He spent the last 8 years of practice in emergency rooms while attaining his degrees, and then transitioned to academia. Dr. Silver writes and speaks about political issues in nursing and healthcare. He has presented at multidisciplinary conferences both nationally and internationally on health policy, the restructuring of healthcare systems using the Public Utility Model, and the role of nursing in that process. He has also spoken to a variety of nurse practitioner groups on political tactics for prescriptive authority and independent practice. In 2004, he led Spectrum's international on-line chat prior to the election. He also studied nursing theory, nursing leadership and has a particular interest in the political fracturing of nursing. In 2013, he published his book on political empowerment "just a union…of nurses.

Lynn (ML) Mathre

Mary Lynn (ML) Mathre is the President and Co-founder of Patients Out of Time and a former President, and Founding member, of the American Cannabis Nurses Association (ACNA). Mary Lynn graduated from the College of St. Teresa In Winona, MN in 1975 and began her nursing career in the U.S. Navy Nurse Corps. She earned her MS degree from Case Western Reserve University in 1985 and published her thesis on Marijuana Disclosure to Health Care Professionals. Originally a medical-surgical nurse, Nurse Mathre changed specialties in 1987 and has been a certified addictions registered nurse (CARN) since 1989. She began as the charge nurse on the Addiction Treatment Unit at the University of Virginia Health System, and later as the first Clinician 5 (expert level), she was the Addictions Consult Nurse for UVA Health System until 2002. She later was Exec. Dir. of an opioid dependence treatment center in Charlottesville. She is the editor of Cannabis in Medical Practice: A Legal, Historical and Pharmacological Overview of the Therapeutic Use of Marijuana (1997) and co-editor of Women and Cannabis: Medicine, Science and Sociology (2002). Nurse Mathre served on the planning committee for Patients Out of Time's national clinical cannabis conference series that began in 2000; has authored numerous papers and chapters on medical cannabis; authored several organizational resolutions supporting medical cannabis; is a co-host on two weekly radio programs on medical cannabis; testified before numerous state legislative committees; and has spoken on the topic of medical cannabis at numerous local, regional, national and international conferences.
