Brian Skarbek, Senior Investment Officer and Senior Vice President has been an invaluable Cypress Bank & Trust team member since 2004. With a wealth of experience in the financial industry, Mr. Skarbek oversees the Cypress investment process and leads the investment team.
Starting his career with Barnett Securities in 1995, Brian quickly established himself as a talented professional. He later joined Harris Bank in Sarasota as a Portfolio Manager and Investment Officer, further honing his skills and expertise. Brian holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, focusing on Finance, from Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Florida.
Beyond his impressive professional achievements, Brian is equally dedicated to positively impacting his community. Chris Myers is the Senior Vice President & Senior Relationship Manager at our Melbourne office. With 37 in years of experience in the banking industry, Christine (Chris) Myers brings a deep commitment to client relationships and community engagement. She began her career working for family-owned community banks in Missouri before relocating to Merritt Island, FL, in 2012 to join Dana Kilborne at Florida Bank of Commerce. In 2021, she had the privilege of becoming part of the Cypress Trust team as they embarked on the journey of launching Cypress Bank & Trust.
Chris has a long history of community involvement. While in Missouri, she served as a United Way Division Chair for the United Way of Northwest Missouri and as Director of Religious Education and Confirmation Faith Formation for Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
Since moving to Florida, Chris has continued her dedication to service, holding leadership roles as Board Chairperson for the Bridges Foundation and the Arc of Space Coast, Advocacy Chair for the Space Coast Regional Board of the Children's Home Society of Florida, Development Chair for the Space Coast Habitat for Humanity Board of Directors, and Advisory Board Member for Hey, Blue! Dana Kilborne is currently the CEO and President of Cypress Bank & Trust, the CEO of Cypress Capital Group and is a director of both companies. In 2004, she founded another Florida based community bank as President and CEO and sold the company in January 2018. Ms. Kilborne has over thirty years of experience in the financial services industry in Florida.
She currently serves as a Director of the Federal Reserve Board of Atlanta Bank, Jacksonville Branch, and the corporate board of NCMIC. Dana continues her commitment to the Economic Development Commission of the Space Coast Executive Committee, where she once led as Board Chair.
Ms. Kilborne is past Chair of Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy, where she was also a volunteer teacher. She has served on the board of several community organizations including the East Coast Zoological Society, Brevard Symphony Orchestra, Florida Tech and many other local not for profit institutions. While in South Florida, she served on the Downtown Development Authority of West Palm Beach and Rosarian Academy and was awarded the Orchid Award by the mayor of WPB for her leadership in the community.
Dr. Kyle Moyles, Dr. Kyle Moyles is a highly accomplished, board-certified orthopaedic hand surgeon with over 15 years of clinical expertise and a proven track record in business leadership. As an experienced entrepreneur, Dr. Moyles has founded and successfully scaled two ambulatory surgery centers and a private practice hand surgery group, all of which are regarded as premier specialty practices in Brevard County. Additionally, he made history as the youngest member of the Florida Medical Association Board of Directors and the youngest president of the Brevard County Medical Society.
Beyond his clinical and entrepreneurial successes, Dr. Moyles is a respected academic, having published numerous peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters in the field of hand surgery. Dr. Wayne Wolfson is President of NCMIC Group, Inc. and National Chiropractic Mutual Holding Company. Dr. Wolfson was named Florida Chiropractor of the Year in 2002 by the Florida Chiropractic Association and received the Distinguished Service Award from the Florida Board of Chiropractic Medicine in 2005.
Active in his community, Dr. Wolfson is the past chairman of the Orlando Chamber of Commerce, was a founding board member and shareholder of the Florida Bank of Commerce and previously served on the Board of Trustees at Valencia Community College. Elizabeth Wagner, Senior Trust Officer and Senior Vice President, has over 40 years of experience in banking, trust, and investments in the Palm Beach market. Elizabeth held a private banking position with Harris Bank prior to joining Cypress Bank & Trust in 2004. She currently serves as the Chairperson of the Cypress Bank & Trust New Accounts Committee. Ellen Thigpen has been a proud resident of the Ponte Vedra area since 1996 and has built a successful career in the banking industry since 2007. She began as a part-time teller and steadily advanced to become a Branch Manager, driven by her passion for helping people and ensuring her clients receive the best care possible.
Outside of work, Ellen is a devoted mother to her son, who loves playing baseball, so you'll often find her cheering on the ball field. She also enjoys spending time on the beach and attending Jacksonville Jaguars games with her family.

Jim Swann, a Tampa native and Brevard County resident since 1973, currently serves as Chairman of the Finance and Audit committee and Past Chairman of the Board for Eckerd Connects. He is Past Chairman of The Florida Nature Conservancy. He presently serves on the board of 1000 Friends of Florida. Jim earned a bachelor's degree from Washington and Lee University and has served on the boards of numerous organizations including the St. Johns River Water Management District, Eckerd College, the Governor's Commission on the Future of Florida's Environment, The Environmental Regulatory Commission, and the Board of Directors for Prime Bank/Colonial Bank, Florida Bank of Commerce, and Sunshine Bank.
John Cole Oliver is an equity partner in the law firm of Rossway Swan Tierney Barry Lacey & Oliver, representing clients in the Melbourne area with a concentration on real estate land use matters, commercial transactions, and commercial litigation. Additionally, Mr. Oliver earned his J.D. degree from the University of Florida, graduating magna cum laude and serving as the Editor in Chief of the Florida Law review. Prior to beginning in private practice, Mr. Oliver served as a federal law clerk to The Honorable John Antoon, II, United States District Court Middle District of Florida.
Mr. Oliver remains an active member of the Brevard County community, currently serving as the immediate past President of the Brevard Zoo and as a member of the Board of Directors for the Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy and Economic Development Council for Brevard. Previously, Mr. Oliver served on the Brevard County Charter Review Commission.

John E. Tranter has over 40 years of experience in the banking and financial services industry and has served as a passionate advocate for the industry through his role as Chairman of the Florida Bankers Association, one of the largest state banking associations in the country. He has held leadership roles with the Florida Bankers Association, BancServ, and the Independent Bankers Bank of Florida.
John began his career at First Bank & Trust of Palm Beach County, which later became part of Barnett Bank. He held various management and executive management positions with the bank after the merger with Nations Bank 1998. John left Nations Bank to become the founder and organizer of Gulfstream Business Bank, a de novo community bank that grew to over $650 million in assets in 10 years. As Vice Chairman and CEO of Gulfstream, he managed "de novo" process, including the start-up capital of over $16 million. In addition to his strategic and leadership roles he managed the eventual merger of the bank into CenterState Bank in 2014, assuming the role of Chief Banking Officer of the combined organization.

Mr. Marino has been a certified public accountant (CPA) for more than thirty-five years and has been involved in all aspects of the operations of commercial banks, broker-dealers and trust companies. He has held positions ranging from board member, president, chief executive officer and chief financial officer of various public and private financial companies based in Florida.
Mr. Marino has served on a number of philanthropic boards including Chairman of Hospice of Palm Beach County and President of Lake Worth Christian School.

Kenneth "Ken" R. Thompson, Jr. is a 38-year veteran of the trust and investment management business. He began his career in Atlanta, Georgia working with SunTrust Bank and later transferred to Southeast Georgia working in Waycross and Brunswick markets. In 2000, he moved to Jacksonville, FL to work for First Union which became Wachovia and Wells Fargo through mergers. During his time there, he managed the fiduciary teams in North and Central Florida as well as the teams in Alabama, Tennessee, Texas and California during the transition to Wells Fargo.
In August 2021, Ken joined Cypress Bank & Trust as the Senior Trust Executive for the Jacksonville, Florida region with a goal of growing and managing relationships for this boutique, community bank firm.
Ken has a Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA) designation. He attended the Southern Trust School in Birmingham, Alabama as well as Cannon Trust School. He received his BS in Management from Georgia Tech.
Ken is the longest serving member of the Board of the Planned Giving Council of NE Florida and acts as Treasurer. He is also a member of the Estate Planning Council of NE Florida. Early in her career, Mercedes built a name for herself as the first Hispanic female banking executive in Central Florida and is well-known for her many contributions to the community. She has served in various nonprofit Board of Directors roles, including the first female President of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Chair of Orange County Housing Finance Authority, Board member of Jobs Partnership, and founding member and Past Chair of HBIF, now Prospera.
Nina Mariotti-Swanson, Trust Support Specialist, is a 40-year veteran of the banking, trust, and investment management industry. Nina began her career with Florida National Bank and continued through mergers and acquisitions, finally retiring from Wells Fargo.
Owen Straub is a finance enthusiast with a track record of serving both consumer and commercial clients. Starting his career in the corporate banking sector in the Midwest, he initially gained valuable experience as a personal banker. Raphael started in the investment analysis field at FactSet Research Systems, where for eight years he held roles in portfolio analytics for equity and fixed income and had a key role in the development of RBICS, FactSet's proprietary industry taxonomy. Raphael also held the role of Portfolio Implementation Specialist in Victory Capital Holdings, assisting in the management of equity and alternatives ETF and Mutual Fund strategies.

Sascha's career in financial services spans 30+ years. Prior to joining Cypress, he worked in the Private Bank offices at Wells Fargo, bank of America, and SunTrust. He graduated Cum Laude from Rutgers University with a degree in Economics and earned a Master of Business Administration from the Roy E. Crummer Graduate School of Business at Rollins College. He holds both the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designations. Sascha has served his community through roles on the Maitland City Council, including former Mayor of the City of Maitland, Board member of the South Seminole North Orange County Waste Water Authority, Board member and former Chair of the Orange County Housing Finance Authority, Board Trustee for local public radio station 90.7 WMFE, and Board member of Orlando Shakes, an acclaimed professional theater.

Stormy Leggett is a Trust Officer out of the Winter Haven office, bringing nearly three decades of experience in the financial industry, including lending, branch management, and trust services. She began her banking career in 2007 at Citizens Bank & Trust, where she spent 17 years as a Trust Administrative Officer, overseeing compliance, operations, and administration for the trust and investment services division. It was in trust services that Stormy found her true calling-ensuring seamless compliance and administration while delivering exceptional client support.
Stormy is a graduate of the Florida Trust School and the Florida Graduate Trust & Wealth Management School. She was elected class secretary for the Florida Bankers Association Trust Graduate Class of 2013 at the University of South Florida and remains an active member of the Estate Planning Council of Polk County. Her dedication to professional development and community involvement has been a consistent part of her career.
A Winter Haven native, Stormy now resides in Lakeland with her husband, Chris, and their children. She is a proud mother of four sons and a daughter and loves spending time with her two grandsons. Outside of work, she enjoys cooking and creating meaningful moments with family and friends.

Libby, Senior Portfolio Manager and Senior Vice President, has over 40 years of investment experience, having held senior level positions with Casco Bank & Trust Company, Bank of New Hampshire, NBD Bancorp (now part of JP Morgan Chase), and the Vero Beach office of U.S. Trust Company, where he spent 7 years as Senior Investment Officer. He is a graduate of the University of Maine and the Williams College School of Banking.

Theresa Strickland, Senior Portfolio Manager and Senior Vice President, joined Cypress Bank & Trust in 2004. Prior to joining Cypress, Theresa was a Portfolio Manager for the Harris Private Bank and began her financial services career with Bank of Boston. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Florida State University and earned a Master of Business Administration from Palm Beach Atlantic University.

Tom Hermansen acts as managing partner for several real estate investment entities with interests in commercial real estate in Brevard County. The principal partnerships currently own/operate five hotels. A sixth hotel in Cape Canaveral is currently under construction. Other activities include commercial leasing of owned buildings and residential real estate development.
Tom was a founding director of Prime Bank of Melbourne in 2004 and served on its board through the merger with Florida Bank of Commerce until it later merged with Sunshine Bank in 2016.
Tom is the current Chair of the Brevard County Tourist Development Council. He also serves on the Board of the Cocoa Beach Hotel & Lodging Association and the Board of Trustees for Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy.
He lives in Merritt Island with his wife Cortney and their two daughters, Sophia, and Vanessa.

Tony Azqueta is an Associate Portfolio Manager who joined Cypress Bank & Trust in 2022. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from the University of Florida, specializing in Finance, Marketing, and Economics in Agribusiness.
Prior to joining Cypress Bank & Trust, Tony gained valuable experience as a Financial Analyst intern at Florida Crystals Corporation. He also served as a Capital Markets & Partnerships Intern at MetaProp, a Proptech-focused Venture Capital firm.
During his time at the University of Florida, Tony actively participated as a member of the Club Tennis Team and was involved in two Honor Societies. He also contributed as an Analyst for the Florida Financial Management Association.
Currently, Tony remains engaged in the business community as an active member of the Palm Beach Chamber of Commerce and the Palm Beach Young Professionals group.
