Delray welcomed Cameron to the role of asset manager in 2015. Cameron assists the company in many ways, including managing completed properties, spearheading legal and marketing research, drafting and editing legal documents, and overseeing accounting.
Cameron has an extensive legal background, with work experience at several law firms in and around Washington, DC, where he provided legal expertise covering medical malpractice and patent infringement, among others. He earned his law degree in 2011 from the Charlotte School of Law, where he was a founding member and vice justice of Phi Alpha Delta law fraternity. His undergraduate years were spent at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia, where he earned a bachelors degree in political science.
Cameron is an active member of the JMU Alumni Association in Charlotte and helps organize events around the city. He is an avid runner and can usually be found running through Charlotte's Elizabeth, Eastover and Plaza Midwood neighborhoods in the late afternoons. His training paid off when he completed bucket-list half-marathons in 2016 and 2017. Cameron also enjoys travelling abroad, with a goal of visiting a new country each year.
Daniel is a Delray founder and manages all day-to-day operations. He oversees the development and management of current projects, as well as the research, approval and financing of new opportunities. Daniel earned a business administration degree from the University of South Carolina and an MBA from Wake Forest University. He spent four years as development manager for The Boulevard Company, a Charlotte-based multifamily development group, where he led apartment development for all of the company's legacy projects. During his time with Boulevard, Daniel also provided development consulting services for the multifamily division of Faison Corporation, a nationally renowned firm that has developed or acquired over $3 billion of real estate. Daniel left Boulevard and Faison in 2014 to launch Delray Ventures LLC.
Daniel lives in Charlotte with his wife, son and wheaten terrier, Walter, who joins the Delray team at the office each day. Daniel enjoys traveling, reading, and watching his beloved South Carolina Gamecocks.
With a distinguished career spanning both single-family and multifamily residential development, Ray Jones is one of the Charlotte area's best-known real estate developers and investors. He spent 44 years building an impressive real estate resume that culminates with his work for Summit Properties, a group that grew during his tenure to become one of the Southeast's largest developers and operators of luxury garden multifamily apartment communities. Ray joined Summit in 1984 as managing partner, a position he held for ten years. In 1994 the group went public, becoming a real estate investment trust (REIT) publicly traded on The New York Stock Exchange. From this point until his retirement in 1998, Ray served as Summit's executive vice president. During his 14 years with Summit, Ray oversaw the development of nearly 30,000 apartment homes in 26 communities across Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Ohio.
Prior to 1984, Ray served as general operations manager for the Charlotte and Houston divisions of Ryan Homes Inc., overseeing the development of thousands of single-family and multifamily homes. His college years were spent at George Washington University, where he earned a degree in political science. Today, Delray Ventures is fortunate to have Ray as a valued part of the development team, assisting in the approval of new development opportunities and solicitation of financial partners. He currently resides in Kiawah Island, South Carolina, with his wife of 45 years, Kate. Ray can usually be found playing tennis or biking around the island.
Steve joined Delray Ventures in 2021 and serves as Development Executive. In this role, Steve is responsible for the management and execution of most residential projects. Before Delray Ventures, Steve has most recently been managing his own development consulting company, Smith Southeast Development, acting as a design and construction consultant on residential projects. Steve has over 30 years of experience in overseeing the design and construction of multifamily projects for Faison Associates, Levine Properties, and JLL. Steve earned his undergraduate degree in architecture from University of Cincinnati and Masters in Real Estate and Urban Economics from University of Wisconsin.
