I grew up in Nottingham, and when I left school I studied horticulture and landscape design, I enjoyed learning about the natural environment and how to balance this with the people who use it. I then worked as a cabinet maker alongside my parents, who are furniture restorers and craftspeople. We designed and built fine cabinetry to house the coin and medal collections of institutions like the Bank of England and Tower of London, as well as private collectors all over the world... In 2017 my wife and I moved to Sheffield, where I began my most ambitious project - a renovation of our 1930s semi-detached home. We worked with a local architect to make the most out of the bare bones of the building, and over the past three years I have been carrying out these plans: a garden office, a loft conversion and extension...
