Ahmed Rajab is Founder and CEO of SHIELDS Reinsurance Brokers, established in 2017. Shields is a fully regulated reinsurance broker by the DFSA, approved by Lloyd's of London, headquartered in Dubai at the DIFC and full member of the DIFC IA. Ahmed brings 25 years of professional experience, relationship in the region and strong leadership skills.
Before starting SHIELDS, Ahmed was CEO responsible in developing the strategy and leading Aon‘s (largest insurance/reinsurance broker in the world) Treaty and Fac teams dedicated to the region based in London and Dubai to achieve the group's growth ambitions. Since Ahmed joined AON, he restructured the team moved the operation out of Bahrain and setup the company at the DIFC in Dubai managing Middle East and North Africa.
Ahmed was one of the first Board Members of the DIFC Insurance Association when it was established, promoting Reinsurance and helping in growing the reinsurance market in Dubai. Ahmed has been prominent speaker at many conferences across the region and authored articles in the insurance / reinsurance press.
Before joining AON Benfield, Ahmed worked at Willis Re in London (today part of Gallagher) as regional director MENA from 2002 to 2012 and prior to that he was a reinsurance treaty underwriter at SOREMA in Paris looking after the Middle East for 5 years.

During his extensive career at Bupa spanning over three decades, Dean has held various roles, gaining international experience through several Executive and General Management assignments across the healthcare sector in Australia, UK, India and the UAE.
Previously, Dean was the General Manager of Strategic Transformation at Bupa UK where he was responsible for leading Bupa's Brexit plan, establishing a new regulated licensed entity based in the Republic of Ireland. Prior to this, Dean also held senior leadership roles as Managing Director of Bupa International based in the UK, and Chief Operating Officer at Max Bupa based in India.
His core competencies span strategy, governance and risk management, commercial development and transformation and change management delivery. He also has strong implementation experience in mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, start-ups and integrations/separations.
Dean currently serves as Chairman of the Board for Bupa Egypt Insurance, and Bupa Denmark Services as well as Chair & Director of the Board for Bupa Global Middle East (DIFC) Ltd. He is also on the Board for Bupa Singapore Holdings.

Since joining Chaucer in February 2015, Fawzi has directed development of Chaucer's underwriting in the MENA region and managed the establishment of their regional office in Dubai in late 2017.
