Brendon Barnes

Chief Investment Officer at Quayside Holdings Brendon comes from an investment banking background, having spent 11 years working overseas with the Macquarie Group and the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority focusing on investments in the infrastructure sector. Prior to this he spent 10 years in structured finance, funds management and taxation consulting. Brendon is an independent director on the board of Honeylab, a research company that develops natural medical products from bees and their environment as well as Techion. He holds a BCA in accounting and commercial law and a Graduate Diploma in professional accounting and is a member of the Institute of Directors.

Cheryl Dhillon

UK-based Director, Cheryl Dhillon is a commercial senior executive with extensive experience in international blue chip pharmaceutical organisations in a variety of sectors. Over her career she has worked in senior roles as a Financial Controller and Financial Director for global companies based out of Europe and Asia. Her experience includes demonstrable achievements in business strategy and P&L improvement in start-up, growth phase or major change. Cheryl brings strong financial and commercial operational experience to Techion.

David Grimmett - CTO

David is responsible for ensuring the R & D and platform teams deliver client-focused innovation which solves real world diagnostic problems. David studied Microbiology and Immunology, starting his career as a research fellow. As he progressed from research, David spent time as a teacher and then in biomedical sales before becoming Business Development Manager (Biomedical Technologies and Asia Partnerships) at University of Otago's Research & Enterprise Office, working in the fields of biotechnology and functional food.

Dr Ian Boddy

Dr Ian Boddy, has a PhD in organic chemistry, was a Research Fellow at Cambridge University and a Senior Research Leader with the large German agrochemicals company, Schering AG. He is also well-known for his time with the New Zealand Crown Research Institute AgResearch as GM Commercial. He heads his own consultancy specialising in technology commercialisation and IP management. He is a Member of the NZ Institute of Directors and is a director of several companies.

Eurion Thomas

Eurion joined Techion UK at its formation in 2014 following a career with Innovis, who were Techion's UK agents until that point. Having been brought up on a sheep farm in West Wales, he has always been passionate about all things sheep and held various posts at Innovis from its formation as a spin-out from Aberystwyth University in 2001. As Innovis' Operations Manager, Eurion had responsibility for parasitology and genotyping services. He specialises in parasite control and has delivered consultancy and training to farmers across the UK as well as managing the sales of the original FECPAK system. Eurion's role grew to include Technical Sales Manager in Wales for Innovis Breeding Sheep, a farmer-facing role that supported the delivery of breeding/genotyping services and in the sale of performance recorded sheep. As well as managing the European business, Eurion also has oversight of many research projects such as the commercialisation of Fluke testing, Protozoan cyst differentiation with RAFT, the Sainsbury's FECPAK G2 project and HCC's WAARD Project.

Greg Mirams - Managing Director

Greg developed the original FECPAK in 1992 with the intention to empower farmers with a tool to measure parasite burdens on farm. Greg has gone on to lead several projects in the parasite management field including the S3 Project (Sheep Sustainability Strategy), the Cattletech Project, Sainsbury's FECPAK G2 Project and has been a member of the WormWise extension committee. Greg was the recipient of the 2005 Sir Arthur Ward award by the New Zealand Society for Animal Production for his contribution to research in animal production. Through 2006-2009 Greg was a participant in the EU Parasol Project, where FECPAK was proven to reduce chemical inputs and improve animal performance. In 2010 Greg formed Techion to develop FECPAK G2. Greg developed the core technology used in FECPAK G2 in collaboration with the University of Otago. Techion's FECPAK G2 has partnered with Sainsbury's UK, Ghent University, Cornell University, the Swiss Tropical Public Health Institute and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to name a few. Techion continues to expand its research and commercial partnerships around the world.

Kelvin Kite

Kelvin has a broad range of accounting and management experience in New Zealand, Australia and the United States which includes work in the private, public and not for profit sectors. Most recently Kelvin was the Chief Financial Officer and Acting Chief Executive for Waitaki District Health Services.
