A significant gap exists between advancements in quantum science and their practical applications in industry. This gap is partly due to the shortage of a skilled technical workforce capable of implementing quantum technologies. Incumbent photonics technicians are ideally positioned to bridge this gap, as their existing expertise provides a strong foundation for acquiring quantum-related competencies. This project addresses this need by developing a curriculum that equips photonics technicians with the skills required for the emerging quantum technology workforce. The curriculum consists of a three-course sequence supported by textbooks, lab manuals, and interactive online content. By addressing workforce needs and advancing quantum education, this project contributes to the development of the quantum STEM workforce necessary to drive progress in quantum technology.
