Brent King - CEO, Founder

Dr. King founded Onsite Care NC, now Eventus WholeHealth, in December 2014 to address the healthcare needs of the underserved community of long-term care patients and residents. Since the founding, Dr. King has led the company to become a market leader in providing multidisciplinary physician services to the long-term care community by delivering the only system of truly integrated care. In his board member role, Dr. King is the chairman of the M&A committee. Since his graduation from the UNC MAHEC Residency Program in 1999, Dr. King has balanced his professional career between family medicine and business. From 1999 to 2007, Dr. King was Founder, President, and CEO of Laurel Park Medical Center, where his passion for wellness, prevention, and love of a multidisciplinary approach to patient care was fully expressed. During this time Dr. King also played an integral role in the development, acquisition, and sales of the Laurel Park Medical Center, owned and operated by Park Ridge Hospital. Dr. King has also worked with three large Department of Defense Contractors as a Medical Consultant, and from 2011 to 2013 he was acting CEO and Managing Partner of MPN, a medical group consisting of nine physicians and several PHDs. Dr. King received his undergraduate degree in accounting and then completed his pre-med studies at George Mason University. He earned his Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine, with a specialty in Family Practice, from KCOM.

Brooke Ritchie

Cathy Parker

Cathy Parker is certified Gerontological Nurse Practitioner with a passion for serving those residing in long term care and assisted living settings. She graduated with a Master's Degree in Nursing from University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 1999 and has been practicing in long term care ever since. Her passion with this environment dates back to her experience working as CNA during high school and college. In 2005 she formed Extended Care Specialists alongside Susan Halley and became the trailblazers of providing integrated primary, mental health and wound care in Indiana in the long term care setting. In January 2020 they made the decision to merge with Eventus where their mission of serving residents in these settings has now expanded throughout neighboring states of Kentucky and Ohio. In 2021 she developed an interest in the evolution of fee for service health care into the value based care model. She quickly found the emphasis on quality care, enhanced coordination of care, decreasing duplication of services and wise spending of health care dollars resonated with her vision of healthcare. She has since transitioned into the Director of Value Based Care for Eventus and has had proven success with the MSSP model over the past 3 years. She is committed to helping providers and facilities navigate and embrace the Value Based Care environment.

Chris Day - CFO

Chris Day has worked in Chief Financial Officer roles in multiple venture capital and private equity backed companies, including in healthcare technology, for several years prior to joining Eventus as CFO. Before he began leading and building finance functions at operating companies, Chris spent the better part of a decade in private equity, working with middle market companies to drive them towards successful growth. As he leads the finance department at Eventus, Chris consistently endeavors to model proactive servant leadership, focused on supporting the operational and strategic efforts of the Eventus team, and strongly believes that it is the finance department's function to enable the company to operate more efficiently and smoothly. Chris has also brought with him throughout his finance career his experience as an officer and Airborne Ranger in the US Army, having served in both the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts. Chris earned his MBA from Columbia Business School and his BA from Yale University.

Dr. Dirk Juschka

Ethan Levine

Dr. Levine earned his PhD in Psychology and Organizational Development from Pennsylvania State University. His diverse career includes leading Psychology and Deafness Services for the State of North Carolina to Director of Human Resource Organizational Development at GlaxoSmithKline, to designing a program teaching up and coming chefs at the New England Culinary institute people management skills and ultimately to Eventus WholeHealth as a leader of mental health services and psychotherapy as well as being one of the Founders of the Company. Most recently Dr. Levine has applied his experience and interest to leading Eventus' participation in clinical trials focused on a drug that is designed to reverse some of the symptoms of Alzheimer's. Dr. Levine is committed as well to helping make Eventus the employer of choice, building a culture of collaboration, support and professionalism. Dr. Levine takes pride in his ability to coach therapists on strategies for achieving optimal outcomes with patients. He shares his expertise and proven techniques regularly with Eventus psychotherapy providers to ensure the best possible outcomes are achieved for all Eventus patients.

Jeff Wells

Jeff Wells is the Chief Compliance and Risk Officer at Eventus WholeHealth. Jeff leads the Eventus Compliance Department and is responsible for overseeing the compliance program and risk management function. Jeff also serves as the Eventus Privacy Officer. Jeff assists the Eventus leadership team, healthcare providers, and support staff to ensure the company maintains its robust culture of compliance. Prior to joining Eventus, Jeff served as the Chief Compliance Officer for two different large outpatient rehabilitation companies and was responsible for leading the development, implementation, guidance, and administration of the compliance and privacy functions at those companies. Jeff earned his BA from Fairfield University and his law degree from Touro University Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center, where he graduated magna cum laude. Jeff is also certified in healthcare compliance through the Health Care Compliance Association and is a certified officer of healthcare compliance through the American Institute of Healthcare Compliance.

Jennifer Rucci

Dr. Rucci is a nationally recognized Psychiatrist who specializes in the study, prevention, and treatment of mental disorders in the geriatric population. Dr. Rucci has built a foundation of knowledge from large hospital systems, community mental health, emergency services, and academic settings. In 2010 she found her passion in the underserved long-term care population who had little access to quality mental health services. In order to expand access, she developed a program to advance the future of psychiatric services in this population through a team of highly trained specialist providers. She then worked toward integrating these mental health services with high quality on site primary care services and other medical specialties, creating the first of its kind integrated healthcare model in the long term care population. Dr. Rucci and her expansive team are dedicated to producing measurable outcomes only achieved through the implementation of a truly integrated patient care system. Dr. Rucci earned her undergraduate degree from the College of New Jersey and then went on to study medicine at Eastern Virginia Medical School where she earned her M.D. Her internship and residency were completed at the University of Colorado, where she focused on geriatric interests and served as chief resident. As part of her dedication to educating and training new care providers, Dr. Rucci is Associate Clinical Faculty and educator for Garner-Webb University, University of North Carolina, and Campbell University. She has authored works on dementia in gold standard textbooks used to educate the next generation of psychiatrists.

John Mezzullo

Dr. Mezzullo has extensive experience providing care in both in-patient and out-patient environments including many years in leadership positions with the top North Carolina medical systems. As Chief Medical Director of Behavioral Health for Eventus, Dr. Mezzullo helps train and lead the team of more than 250 Psychiatrists, PMHNPS, NPs and PAs. With an acute focus on quality and outcomes, Dr. Mezzullo is helping to ensure Eventus continues to build on a long history of leadership in Behavioral Health services to the Geriatric population.

Kimberley Brumfield

Mike Paek

Monica Leriger

She is an adjunct faculty at Butler University where she precepts PharmD candidates in geriatrics with an emphasis in psychotropics, antibiotic stewardship, and polypharmacy. After successfully leading her facilities through COVID treatments, Monica has turned her focus to raising awareness of medications negatively impacting CMS quality measures.

Sandeep Patel

Dr. Patel's career began in a traditional internal medicine practice and was comprised of office hours, hospital rounding and venturing into skilled nursing facilities. Within 2 years he realized that his passion was for post-acute and long-term care. He then went on to build a practice with a focus on skilled nursing facilities and assisted living facilities. During this time Dr. Patel also became medical director at various facilities and found that with the right mindset and approach to care in nursing homes, patients could indeed thrive. Surah Grumet

Susan Halley

With a passion for promoting the skills and capabilities associated with the Nurse Practitioner credential, Susan partnered with Cathy Parker in 2005 to form Extended Care Specialists. Employing Nurse Practitioners, Extended Care Specialists delivered primary care and mental health services to people residing in long term care. The success of Extended Care Specialists was the result of Susan's commitment to introducing the value of nurse practitioners to the established community of physicians providing medical directorship and physician services in long term care. Extended Care Specialists merged with Eventus in January of 2020 and Susan has remained a key member of the leadership team, currently responsible for clinical operations for the Midwest region. Susan is committed to excellent patient care, clinical leadership and creating a culture where Eventus is a destination employer for clinicians with a passion for providing care to the elderly.

Tom Wirostek

Tom Wirostek has more than twenty years of leadership experience in the national and international healthcare industry. Mr. Wirostek was most recently the SVP and General Manager for the DebMed division of SC Johnson & Son. In his role, Mr. Wirostek and his team worked with numerous acute care hospitals in the United States, Canada, Europe, and the Middle East to reduce hospital acquired infections (HAIs) by implementing a system of electronic hand hygiene compliance monitoring and healthcare staff preferred hand hygiene products. Through his work, measurable positive outcomes were achieved, and multiple scientific posters and peer-reviewed studies were produced. Prior to his role with DebMed, Mr. Wirostek held senior leadership roles in sales, marketing, and general management in a number of newly established healthcare divisions of large multi-billion dollar organizations, as well as smaller organizations that aspired to grow sales and profits fast. As a result of his engagement with hospital administration and healthcare professionals, Mr. Wirostek developed a passion for improving patient care and outcomes in all facets of the healthcare industry and, most notably, long-term care. He is committed to applying his strategic development experience and leadership to quickly increase the number of long-term care facilities that can benefit from truly integrated, multidisciplinary physician care.

Will Sampson - Founder

Dr. Sampson has a background in teaching, research, and clinical practice at The University of North Carolina, the Durham VA Medical Center, Duke University Medical Center, and private practice. He has interests in anxiety, trauma, sleep, relationship distress, and geriatrics. After training and working in the multidisciplinary environment of the VA, Dr. Sampson spent 13 years teaching undergraduates at UNC and doing clinical work in private practice. Since November 2012 Dr. Sampson has been exclusively focused on providing psychotherapy to the long-term care community. He first utilized his expertise and teaching experience to develop and lead a team of highly trained Psychologists and LCSWs and then to develop a training and education program for all team members at Eventus. Dr. Sampson has a passion for helping clinicians and staff, both at Eventus and in the long-term care communities Eventus serves, to develop the knowledge and skills needed to provide excellent care. Providing results-driven care to the most vulnerable adults has been the most rewarding professional experience of his career. Dr. Sampson earned his undergraduate degree from Hendrix College in Conway, AR and his master's and PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. An active volunteer, he resides in Durham, NC with his wife and enjoys gardening, running, cooking, and visits with their son.
