Andrew Lee

Job Titles:

Andrew Lee is a Data Engineer here at Geosite. Andrew holds a MS in Data Science from Northwestern University. He's previously worked as an analyst in finance and marketing for various startups. His love for analytics and large datasets has led him to pursue a path in data engineering. Andrew's goal is to provide innovative solutions to complex data problems. In his free time, he likes to go on long hikes and walks on the beach.

Ari Kaputkin

Job Titles:
  • Product Designer / Cartographer
Ari is Geosite's cartographer, working on all things maps. He holds a Master's Degree in Urban Planning from New York University and previously worked on transportation policy at the New York City Department of Transportation. Additionally, he has worked as a consultant for several micro-mobility companies and has experience in geospatial analysis, data visualization and graphic design. He believes maps should not only be tools for conveying information efficiently, but be thought-provoking and beautiful. In his free time, Ari enjoys biking fast, biking slow, growing tomatoes and making pizza.

Dan Lim - Founder

  • Officer and Developer for US Army Cyber Command
Dan Lim is a former Army officer and developer for US Army Cyber Command. Prior to joining the Army, he earned his MS in statistics and is expecting his PhD in political science from UCLA, with an emphasis on methodology and immigration studies. He also holds a BS in mechanical engineering from Yale University. His work experience includes the Center for Strategic and International Studies, the Naval War College, and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Dan's favorite languages are R and Python, and he believes it is self-evident that tabs are superior to spaces.

Elvis Le

Job Titles:
  • Backend Engineer
Elvis Le is a Backend Engineer for Geosite. Prior to joining Geosite, Elvis graduated from UC Davis with a BS in Computer Science. Wanting to enhance his knowledge and skills while creating a difference for others, Elvis became a student tutor. As a tutor, Elvis focused on assisting students with Object-Oriented Programming and Data structures courseworks and thoroughly enjoyed what he has learned from his tutees. Elvis hopes to create more impact by contributing to Geosite's mission of being an efficient platform to manage workflows. Outside of work, Elvis enjoys spending time with family, reading comic books, and watching the Raiders and Warriors.

John Vu

Job Titles:
  • Senior Fullstack Engineer
John is a software engineer with extensive experience building interactive maps. He has led development on many projects such as an app for farmers to view real-time IoT sensor data from their fields, a data visualization engine for a nonprofit think tank to discover pockets of inequality in the U.S., and a planning tool for cities to improve the resiliency of their infrastructure against flood events. He loves taking maps to the edge of technology to see how we can use them to impact the real world. When not pushing code, John is often traveling and finding cool new places to go rock climbing.

Josh Kessler

Job Titles:
  • Director of Technical Operations
Joshua Kessler still plays with trains. From the University of Texas at Austin his journey through the lands of startups has lead here; to the compass rose of the mapping world. This is his seventh [and a half] station stop. His passion is to make secure and efficient systems that improve the world. On weekends you can find him making maps, playing with his family, and designing model train operations.

Katrina Jelinek

Job Titles:
  • Backend Engineer
Katrina is a backend engineer here at Geosite. Previously, she was a music teacher who worked with kindergarten - 8th grade students as well as gave private lessons to people of all ages. She is a recent graduate of Actualize Coding Bootcamp and is so excited to continue expanding her coding knowledge. Outside of work, Katrina enjoys hiking, gardening, house plants, and experimenting with gluten free cooking and baking.

Margaret Williams

Job Titles:
  • Customer Success Lead
Margaret supports Business Development at Geosite bringing nearly a decade of national security expertise to the team. Prior to joining Geosite she was a Senior Defense and Data Analyst at Govini, a technology company that provides big data services to the Department of Defense (DoD). She has also worked as an Action Officer with NNSA's Office of Defense Programs and served in the U.S. Senate as a Legislative Aide for Senator Angus S. King (I-ME). In that capacity, she advised the Senator on a range of defense and foreign policy issues and acted as a liaison to the Senate Armed Services Committee. Margaret is a former Fulbright Scholar and member of the 2018 CSIS Nuclear Scholars class. She received her BA from Lewis & Clark College and her MA from Stanford University.

Matt Wingard

Matt is a software engineer specializing in spatial datasets and backend processes. Before working in tech, Matt was a wildland firefighter and is passionate about implementing geospatial intelligence before, during, and after natural hazard events. Outside of work, you can find him sneaking in a quick mountain bike ride on trails around the San Francisco Bay Area.

Michael Johnson

Job Titles:

Michael is a Back-End engineer at Geosite. Before making the leap to software development, he worked as an audio engineer. His exposure to audio production software evolved into a passion for understanding it on a technical level. This natural curiosity led him to study computer science and acquire software development skills. At Geosite, he leverages that skill set to engineer scalable and performant solutions, not only meeting the architectural needs of today but also tomorrow. In his free time he enjoys exploring 3D graphics and game engines.

Rachel Hausmann

Job Titles:
  • GIS Scientist
From Earth's oceans to the surface of Mars, she has mapped it. Rachel started her research career studying earthquake recurrence intervals and associated hazards of the Cascadia Subduction Zone and the San Andreas Fault system. From there she worked on the InSight Mars Mission at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory where she was a part of the team building maps and analyzing hazards of the landing site location and, when InSight successfully landed, the placement of the seismometer to study Mars quakes. Rachel is passionate about leveraging geospatial data and machine learning techniques to help keep people and assets safe.

Rachel Olney - CEO, Founder

Rachel Olney is a Stanford University Mechanical Engineering PhD Candidate and the founder of Geosite Inc. Her academic research addresses innovation in bureaucratic and hierarchical organizations as well as mechanical and systems engineering and design. Specifically, her dissertation research is focused on elite US Cyber Command teams developing offensive and defensive cyber capabilities. Rachel has also aided the military's efforts to leverage commercial imagery and communications platforms to create improved intelligence products and resilient operations systems.

Sarah Grelik

Job Titles:

Sarah is the Senior Remote Sensing Scientist at Geosite. She earned a Masters of Environmental Science from Miami University in Ohio. Previously, she worked in remote sensing research for Michigan Tech Research Institute and recently spent time working at a geospatial software company. Outside of work she enjoys traveling and trail running with her dogs.

Slava (Viacheslav) Kapustin

Job Titles:
  • Staff Frontend Engineer
Slava (Viacheslav) Kapustin started his career as a technician and then engineer for Russian Space Agency, where he worked on computer-aided designs for the International Space Station. Slava then worked at banks and insurance companies to deliver online services to their clients. He also has experience in the development of electronic book readers and TV streaming platforms. Slava has an MS in Telecommunications Engineering and a BS in Economics.

Stella Yu - COO

Stella Yu is the Director of Operations and Project Manager at Geosite. She held various finance roles within art businesses in New York including Christie's Auction House and the Studio Museum in Harlem, utilizing analytical and project management skills to enhance the client experience and find stakeholder solutions while leading cross-functional teams. Stella holds a BA in Art History from Wellesley College and an MBA from UCLA Anderson School of Management. She enjoys trying new ice cream flavors and pushing her fear of heights to the limit for the sake of experiencing installation art.

Troy Squillaci

Troy Squillaci is a Senior DevSecOps Engineer at Geosite. Prior to joining Geosite, he worked as a Software Engineer at Intel for various business units. His formal computer science background paired with a consultant-like position at Intel enabled him to develop a wide range of technical skills. Troy is passionate about delivering professional software solutions to customers through DevOps best practices. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, biking, photography, traveling, and educating himself on random topics such as wildfires. He currently lives on the road full-time in a travel trailer with his girlfriend.
