Captain Ferhan Malik

Captain Ferhan Malik joined Global AVX in January 2020, as a Consultant. Pilot by trade, Captain Malik has been in the aviation industry since 2008. He has acquired various different skills in his roles, as a Flight Instructor, Pilot Examiner, Chief Pilot, Airworthiness Technical Representative, Accountable Manager, and as a Chief Executive Officer of an Aircraft Management Company. Captain Malik has a vast amount of experience in dealing with different Aviation Authorities around the world. Over the last several years, he has consulted on a number of aircraft transactions in the US, Africa, Europe and the Middle East.

Ciara Byrne - Chief Legal Officer

Ciara has over 15 years experience in both private practice and in-house roles. Specialist areas include; advising financial institutions and non-institutional lenders on real estate and non-real estate secured assets and borrowers in connection with structured finance transactions. Clients include both domestic and international investors, liquidators, receivers, examiners and insolvency practitioners. This has given Ciara a comprehensive understanding of best practices in relation to corporate insolvency and specifically to the oversight of the processes for the sale of specific assets and corporate and professional obligations.

Cormac Mohan

Cormac was President of CPA Ireland during 2018 and was elected to his Institute as a council member in 2015. Cormac is a current member of the CCAB Insolvency Ireland committee driving new policy and international best practice. Cormac previously worked at senior management level for the Coca Cola Company and Microsoft at both local and international level for over 10 years setting up operations as Financial Controller for Coca Cola in Norway and Finland. He also had assignments in Denmark and Switzerland during the early '90s. Cormac is the Managing Partner of FM Accountants & Business Advisors, a strategically positioned city centre based firm he set up in 2002 with a client driven focus on Audit & Business advisory, taxation, corporate restructuring and Forensic Accounting. He heads up Fitzwilliam Corporate Insolvency - a corporate recovery team with significant experience on Receiverships and Liquidations, a proven track record in preparing Independent Expert Reports for Court appointed Examinerships across a range of sectors, such experience that has been vital to the development of Global AVX's process and Transparency Reports. Cormac has specialist expertise in global inward investment, assisting overseas businesses from Europe, Canada and the USA setting up new corporate entities in Ireland in a tax efficient and compliant manner. All company secretarial and company law expertise are available in house. Cormac's industry experience brings a strong commercial focus and business acumen in dealing with all aspects of our clients' business. He has a proven track record in operations, financial management and business strategy.

Cyril Moody

From a very early age, having constantly travelled throughout the world as a result of being raised by a mother who was a flight attendant and a father who was a diplomat, Cyril has been fascinated with air-travel and planes. Cyril obtained a bachelor's degree from the prestigious Duke University, having graduated with honours. After his degree, Cyril pursued a Master's degree at Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland. After having successfully completed a Master's in Philosophy at Trinity College, Cyril moved to Miami, Florida to pursue a Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law. Since then, Cyril has practiced as an attorney in Miami, handling a variety of civil litigation matters, including involvement in bankruptcy proceedings. Cyril has also been an active member in Miami's legal community participating in a number of different Bar Associations and groups learning the ins and outs of Miami's unique legal community. Cyril's experience and engagement in Miami's legal community has led him to being highly respected by his peers and colleagues. Miami is a major international destination and, in many ways, the "gate-way" to South America. Further, it is the base for many different airlines functioning throughout the Caribbean and South America. Cyril's background and active involvement in the South Florida legal community provide Global AVX with the perfect connection and platform to expand its global network . Additionally, Cyril is fluent in Spanish and French which will assist Global AVX's expansion into the Caribbean and South America markets.

David Patton - Chairman

David is a graduate of University College Dublin where he completed his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics. David pursued further studies at the UCD Smurfit Business School where he obtained his Master's Degree in Financial Services. David commenced his career within the Capital Markets division of Ireland's leading financial institutions, he progressed to a senior role within the division over his 12 years, leading a team within the FX department. David is also a board director of a private investment fund that specializes in property in both Ireland and Germany. In 2019, David enrolled in the Chartered Director Programme in Corporate Governance with the Institute of Directors of Ireland, gaining vital knowledge and experience in national and international Corporate Governance. David joined Global AVX as a board member and Head of Treasury. David's exemplary work to date led him to being recently appointed Chairman of the Company.

Dr Donal Hanley

Dr Donal Hanley, a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society, is an Adjunct Professor teaching Aircraft Financing and Leasing Law at the Institute of Air and Space Law of McGill University, a Visiting Lecturer teaching Aircraft Financing and Leasing Law at the International Institute of Air and Space Law at Leiden University, and an Instructor in Aircraft Acquisition and Financing at the International Air Transport Association. He has extensive board experience, as managing director, executive director or non-executive director, for aircraft leasing companies in Ireland, France, Sweden and Egypt, establishing and leading the Irish office of Aviation Capital Group and co-founding CIAF Leasing, an aircraft leasing company established under the auspices of the Egyptian Civil Aviation Ministry. He has over 30 years of experience of practicing aircraft financing and leasing law in Ireland, the UK, Japan and the USA, both in private practice for McCann FitzGerald and Linklaters and in-house for Mitsui & Co., Ltd. and Aviation Capital Group aircraft leasing companies. Qualified as a lawyer in Ireland, England and California, he has also studied in Japan, Canada and the Netherlands and has, among others, MBA, LLM and PhD degrees, all specialising in aviation. He has published a number of articles, as well as the leading textbook on, aircraft operating leasing law and is a regular speaker at industry conferences. He is a member of the editorial boards of the peer-reviewed McGill University Annals of Air and Space Law and Kluwer Law Air and Space Law journals and is a committee member of the European Air Law Association.

Jack Patton - Chief Legal Officer

Jack is a graduate of University College Dublin and completed a post-graduate Diploma in legal studies before attending the Honorable Society of King's Inns where he also completed Company Law as his specialty elective. Jack was called to the Bar of Ireland in 2013 and practiced predominantly in corporate insolvency. Jack has previous in-house legal transaction experience in both the Fund and Pharmaceutical industries. Jack sits as a board director of a private investment fund. Jack has joined the Global AVX team bringing with him his breath of knowledge in corporate responsibility, accountability and contract law.

Jean Luc Laydevant

Jean-Luc has over 20 years international experience in the aviation and defence industry. Jean-Luc started his career at EADS, he then held multiple positions at VP level in several high-tech firms in Dublin, growing businesses to critical mass before acquisition. He then built and led a global team at Ametek Inc, significantly growing the defence, space and aerospace business internationally, with a focus on BRICS regions. In 2017, Jean-Luc joined a boutique Swiss aerospace firm, and led the transformation and internationalization of their commercial and private aviation simulator business unit. 
Jean-Luc has a Master's degree in mechanical and aerospace engineering from ENSAM Paris and an MBA.

Liu Qi - VP of Sales

Liu Qi is the Head of Sales for China and is leading the expansion of the Company into the Far East. Lui Qi is a native of the People's Republic of China and moved to Dublin to study Computer Science in University College Dublin. Lui Qi was a founding director of a property investment and management company prior to joining the Global AVX Team. Liu Qi has a comprehensive understanding of our Global AVX platform while bringing a strong network of contacts in the Far East. Liu Qi is assisting Global AVX's migration to a target the Far Eastern market while directing our Company's WeChat account to bring further brand awareness for the Global AVX platform. As the desire for business jets is set to expand in the Far East, Liu Qi will assist proposed buyers in going through our registration process so that bidders from the Far East can bid on our transparent auction platform.

Meagan Quinlan

Meagan started her flying career in Florida and soon after qualifying as a pilot Meagan moved to the Middle East. Meagan commenced work in Saudi Arabia where she obtained her GACA licence in 2013, Meagan was the first female to ever receive the GACA licence in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Meagan was acknowledged by the Ninety-Nine Organisation which inspires woman in aviation. This gave Meagan the opportunity to teach female trainee pilots in the Kingdom. After an enjoyable four years in the Middle East, Meagan was head hunted by a boutique aviation company to co-pilot their Gulfstream G550. Meagan attended the Flight Safety International for her rating on the Gulfstream G550. After a year based out of Miami Meagan decided to return home to Ireland where she subsequently qualified as a Boeing 737 First Officer. Meagan has been a consultant to Global AVX since the inception of the Company, but her preference is to be in the cockpit.

Peter Stapleton

Peter has joined the Global AVX team with over forty years of experience in the disposal and valuation of commercial real estate including the live auction of assets. During his long-term career with Lisney, a leading Irish Estate Agency with offices in Dublin, Cork & Belfast, Peter was the Managing Director of the company over seven years. As part of the many positions held, Peter acted as Director in charge of Office Agency and Development, Fixed Charge Receivership, and Director of Transactions and is now a Consultant to the firm. Peter is a Past President of the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland and a past Council Member of the Dublin Chamber of Commerce. Peter is a member of the SCSI panel of Arbitrators and Independent Experts and also chair of the Education Standing Committee, Council member of SCSI, and a current member of the Commercial Property Committee.

Robert Bourke - CEO

Robert is the founder and CEO of Global AVX. Aside from Robert's keen interest in the aviation industry, Robert is a qualified solicitor, Notary Public and Principal of a boutique law firm in Dublin. Robert was called to the Bar of Ireland in 2008. Robert was also called to the Bar of Northern Ireland and the Bar of England and Wales and is a member of the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple in London and the Kings Inns in Dublin. Through this experience Robert has developed his knowledge and expertise in the areas of commercial contracts, corporate restructuring and insolvency and the disposal of leveraged assets. In early 2018, whilst on a trip to Shannon Airport, Robert noted that two European airlines had applied for Bankruptcy protection and were storing sections of their fleets of commercial aircraft at the airport. Upon reviewing the law and the applicable solutions available at the time for financial institutions and professionals dealing with such destressed aircraft he had not found a robust and concrete process or platform. Robert initiated a journey to build a platform that would have the capacity to deal with the disposal of aircraft, distressed and otherwise, in a clear and transparent manner.

Simon Curley

Simon has been with Global AVX since its inception. In 2017, Simon joined a boutique law firm in Dublin, in which he developed his extensive knowledge of contract law and in regard to legal obligations of stakeholders in businesses; including liquidators, examiners and receivers. Simon has a keen interest in the aviation industry that stems back to studying for his bachelor's degree in college including partaking in courses such as Global Strategic Management, Company Law, Equity Law among others to which he achieved an Honour's Degree. Simon was an inevitable part of building Global AVX to the point where it is at now, having worked tirelessly with international brokers, aviation partners and receivers to assist in the development of a platform that the industry could greatly benefit from. He is the current Head of our Listings Team and would be happy to assist in any queries you may have in relation to listing and our Transparency Reports.

Stephen Kelly

Stephen has over 20 years international experience in the aviation, IT and logistics industry. Stephen started his career at IBM, becoming a top seller of enterprise level solutions. Stephen then built and led a global team at Fourcomms - a Global Just in Time Logistics Solutions Company, significantly growing the aerospace, automotive and business internationally, with a focus on aircraft charter JIT solutions. The client list was a veritable who who's of fortune 500 corporations including Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Dassault, Honeywell to name but a few. In 2018, Stephen founded a business-critical expert boutique logistics firm - Exspeediate, leading and revolutionising the transformation of global logistic solutions online. Stephen also has achieved a Bachelor's degree in Business and Economics from Trinity College Dublin.

Steve Haro - Chairman

Under his leadership, he provided the market requirements to establish an all-new product line, developed an award-winning brand, delivered effective go-to-market strategies, created a superior customer experience, and maximized the company's perceived value and competitive advantages with global audiences. Steve has an extensive background in aerospace working in a variety of disciplines including Engineering, Manufacturing, Sales & Marketing, Strategy, and most recently he worked in Boeing's new Airplane Development organization. There he collaborated with leading tech companies and the world's largest international airlines to define the connectivity features that would support th e digital current and future digital needs of travelers, crews, and airlines for decades to come. He is well versed in all aspects of the Internet of Things (IoT) Aviation, on the ground (airport/airplane/travel) and in the air (all domains). He provided the OEM view on a panel at the Internet of Things Aviation Conference 2016 in London, and he continues to stay relevant having established the market requirements in the area of operational, maintenance and passenger connectivity for an aircraft entering service in the middle of the coming decade.
