Thomas (Tommy) Goldfarb

Job Titles:
  • Financial Representative
One might say that I was born into the financial services business. My paternal grandparents started an insurance business in El Paso in 1929, and despite the economics of that time, they prospered and grew their business. My father and uncle entered Goldfarb Insurance after their military service in WWII. Together they continued the success of their parents due to their attention to their clients' interests first and foremost, regardless of how big or small the clients account was. The dedication to their clients' needs before their own ingrained in me the importance of a client relationship centered business. My reason for this career path was quite personal: I saw that many members of my own family, as well as friends, were not getting the kind of help they needed to plan financially for the future. I was confident that with my understanding of personal finance, coupled with my training, first as a commercial banker in my earlier career, as well as a financial professional, I could help people better prepare for their financial futures, and live confidently. I graduated from The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) with a Bachelors of Business Degree with a concentration in Finance in 1985. My first career path took me into commercial banking, where I learned about the importance of cash flow management, both at the business, and personal levels. In 1992, I chose to enter the financial services business with my mentor, my father, in order to help my clients with their personal and businesses financial risk management and investment decisions. With over 25 years in the financial services business, I have developed a reputation for being professional, ethical, and able to speak to and educate people in an easy to understand manner, enabling them to pursue their financial objectives. My wife Cyd and I live in El Paso, Texas. We have three young adult children who are pursuing their own education and career paths. In our spare time, we enjoy hiking in our beautiful mountains, snow skiing, travelling, and our friends and extended family. We have been members of Temple Mt. Sinai for 25 years and feel a commitment to our community by serving on various local boards, and otherwise volunteering our time to help improve our community. I am a Financial Representative of The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America, holding Series 7, 63 and 65 registrations with Park Avenue Securities, LLC. I am licensed in many states to sell and service my client's investment and insurance products.
