Debi, along with her husband Gary, founded the firm and now serves as its Chief Financial Officer. She has been active in the securities business for over 30 years.

Gary D. Halbert - Founder

Gary D. Halbert, a native of Lubbock, Texas, and a graduate of Texas Tech University, furthered his education at the American Graduate School of International Management ("Thunderbird") in Phoenix, Arizona, where he earned his Master's Degree in International Business. Following graduate school, Gary embarked on a career in the financial industry, initially with a multinational commodities company in Dallas, Texas. In 1977, he commenced writing a bi-weekly newsletter for his growing clientele, which later evolved into his weekly Forecasts & Trends newsletter. Gary and Debi Halbert founded ProFutures, Inc., and later Halbert Wealth Management, Inc., an Investment Advisory firm. Their commitment to innovation and excellence has left an enduring mark on the industry. Gary passed away in 2023 after a long illness. The loss of Gary is deeply felt by all of us, but we are dedicated to preserving and building upon the foundation he laid for HWM. Together, we will honor Gary's memory by continuing to uphold the values that define our company.

Henry Rohlfs - VP

Henry has been with the Firm for over twenty-five years, first serving as the Director of Information Technology, and later as Vice President and Operations Manager. His responsibilities include supervising customer service, custodial relationships and technical services. You can hear his voice on our company videos and the advisor webinars he produces. Originally from California, Henry is a graduate of the University of California at Davis. He and his wife Karen now live in the Texas wine country outside of Austin, where he enjoys cooking, cycling and, of course, wine tasting. Henry volunteers with the Boy Scouts of America and has served on the Capitol Area Council BSA Executive Board. He has also served on the board of the Austin Jazz Workshop, a nonprofit that encourages students to participate in the arts, as well as participated with several other local charities.

Phil Denney

Phil came to HWM as an Investment Advisor in October of 1999. Since he has been with the firm, Phil has distinguished himself by using his previous leadership and investment experience to assist clients in selecting a portfolio of HWM's risk-managed strategies that helps put them on the path to meeting their unique financial goals. Phil helps clients see the "big picture" and focus on long-term strategies, rather than just looking for the latest hot stock tip. He also serves as a member of the Investment Committee and the Research and Due Diligence Committee. Phil was born in Pittsburg, Texas, the son of a Southern Baptist minister. However, he spent most of his youth in Ohio, and graduated from the University of Akron with a BA degree in Political Science in 1975. In 2002, he earned his MBA degree at St Edwards University in Austin. Phil is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERâ„¢ practitioner. When not helping clients put together diversified investment plans, Phil enjoys being active in church and civic activities. One activity that he finds very rewarding is volunteering for STEP Ministries in Little Rock, Arkansas, where he mentors and tutors under resourced youth. Phil is an experienced leader and retired from the U.S. Army holding the rank of Major. He is a member of the Military Officer Association of America. Phil lives in Sherwood, AR with his wife Brenda.

Spencer Wright

After college and five years in the tech industry, Spencer joined American Express Financial Advisors (now Ameriprise Financial) where he was active as a financial planner and securities broker. Spencer came to work for HWM as an Investment Advisor in October of 1999. While at HWM, Spencer not only assists our clients with their investing and portfolio needs, but he is also a major contributor to our newsletters and the evolution of our investment offerings. Spencer serves on our Research and Due Diligence Committee and the Investment Committee, where his experience in domestic and international markets made him invaluable during the development of Managed Strategies and Alpha Advantage. Spencer was born and raised in Austin. When not working at HWM, he spends time with his family.
